Pullersboy Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 Alrighty guys 'n' gals, I've recently picked up bass fishing again after missing it for about the last 12 or so years. I'm having to learn alot all over again. I'm also brand new to this forum, so please be gentle and try not to go over my head. This evening when I get off work, I have plans to get on the water in my itty bitty bass boat and head out to a low/moderate traffic reservoir to put a line in the water. I just found out that there is an old road bed that goes through one of the coves that I've not yet fished at this lake. I have plans of trying to fish that road bed. Any tips/techniques to try while I'm at it??? Quote

Super User Nitrofreak Posted May 22, 2012 Super User Posted May 22, 2012 I've always had success fishing a carolina rig on road beds. X2 I like a lizard on mine, I will also use a spinner just off the bottom, or bounce it off the bottom. Good luck and be safe !!! Let us know how it turns out !! Quote
Pullersboy Posted May 23, 2012 Author Posted May 23, 2012 Well, I was unable to get to the road bed yesterday evening. There were three ski boats w/ skiers wearing that cove out. So, I had to move on for the evening. I plan on heading back out there this evening to give it another shot. I did, however, go to a Tx. rig and had, what I consider a successful outing, in that, I saw improvement in worki g the worm. I also recently learned about "picking" my weight, which I really liked because of the abiility to feel the worm better. More to come on that. I ended up just puttin two in the boat and missed a couple of others. Quote
