Kevinator1 Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Man, the new Revo S sure would look sweet on a Veritas rod. Quote
BamaBoy5 Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 Yea or a duckett. I may have to get one for mine. I just wish there was different gear ratios other than a 6.4 Quote
Super User Hi Salenity Posted June 14, 2012 Super User Posted June 14, 2012 Anyone find out the LPT on the 8.0 STX? I think the TW site said 9/19 before they came in. Quote
jeb2 Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 I think the TW site said 9/19 before they came in. That's what I see on TW, too. And that matches everything else I've seen on the web so far. Mid to late September is the current due date. Quote
Izan Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 I cant wait for the new Revo S. Great product, great color! Quote
Quillback Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 Just pre-ordered an next gen STX from an online retailer that's running a 15% off sale through Friday. Quote
hike4steel Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 Sign says pre-order. I have seen pre-order a couple of places with deliver sometime early fall. Nice advertisment in Bassmaster Mag. this month/last month? with a pull out booklet. Smaller, lighter, braking system changes. And slight price increases. stx $220. Quote
Quillback Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 The online retailer whose name can' t be mentioned, has the STX listed for $199, with a %15 discount through Friday -so nets out at $169.00. Just have to wait until September to get it. Be nice to see an impartial review of the new STX vs. the new Shimano Curado as they are priced the same. Quote
21farms Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 i have two 3G STXs preordered through THUT at 20 percent off $199. expected ship date is 9/1. i also have a daiwa lexa 100 preordered through "the online retailer whose name can't be mentioned" at 15 percent off with and expected ship date of 9/15. Diggy Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 They won best of show @ icast. They look so much gooder than last years in the specs dept. My pockets will. soon Quote
Super User clayton86 Posted July 12, 2012 Super User Posted July 12, 2012 nice did you get to fondle them didn't the MGX get best of show last year also? Quote
Scorcher214 Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 Im not a company fanboy except for maybe Daiwa. (2 daiwas, 1 quantum, 1 okuma, 1 abu garcia). The new SX will definitely be my next purchase though. looks pretty sharp. Quote

I'm liking the new S model the most on a Veritas that will be my first gen 3 reel combo then a SX on the new Vendetta 2 after I get the new Revo spinning reels Quote
TNBassin' Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 I asked someone at abu garcia why the new sx has one less bearing than the gen 2s, and they told me a more efficient gear system was the reason. It's funny that the stx has the same amount though. Hope abu didn't cheapen the sx to widen the gap between models in the revo lineup. Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 Bearing count is over rated. Quality bearings supporting the critical areas is much more important. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted August 17, 2012 Super User Posted August 17, 2012 Geez.... All the Revos have been hyped and disappointed. Now we have another candidate for entry in the "Loser" class. Did Curiosity take them to Mars for production? Quote
Western-Mass-Bass Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 Is it true that they are also gonna have a " BLING STORE " for the revos as well??? Carbon fiber handles and eva pads? Thought I heard about that Quote

Did Curiosity take them to Mars for production? Coming from the man who fishes Shimano....Who I believe decreased quality and increased price. Does that make Shimano the "Bigger Loser"? 5 Quote
TNBassin' Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 The revo shop is a neat idea, but $50 for a carbon fiber handle is a little much. Quote
jj'sbassinforfun Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 The revo shop is a neat idea, but $50 for a carbon fiber handle is a little much. I haven't checked the price on the MGX handle. But I bet its close and comes with the EVA grips already. I prefer the aluminum myself and have been getting Premier handles for $38 and change. Now I can opt for just the EVA grips. Im also in for at least one of the extended handles. Quote
Super User QUAKEnSHAKE Posted August 17, 2012 Super User Posted August 17, 2012 The revo shop is a neat idea, but $50 for a carbon fiber handle is a little much. Like $40 overpriced for sure, thats only a $10-$15 part in the radio control car/truck realm. I checked and two 108mm x 21mm x 2mm pieces for a vehicle, that acually look like a handle, were $4 ($2 each) add about 3-4 bucks each spindle hardware right at $12 add $3 for the offset process $15 total. Super User clayton86 Posted August 18, 2012 Super User Posted August 18, 2012 It's still cheaper then jdm handles and same price as the hawg handles................ Quote
