Just picked some up...wow,this is a pretty big bait. No wonder Big O slaughters the toads with it. Who else uses it,and what's a good rigging setup( hook size, weight ect)? Also what technique is preferred(c-rig,t-rig...)? I'd likely T-rig it myself. Who has had success with the Rage Hawg?

I have had good luck T/rigging it myself. I fish lots of shallow water and a 1/4oz tungsten does the job for me.

A 4/0 or 5/0 ewg with a weight to match your presentation and everything should be golden.

It's actually the same profile size of standard hog baits on the market but with a slightly smaller diameter body section. This allows a slightly quicker fall rate and when pinching the length down from a possible torn head section leaving a shorter overall length, the bait still appears longer because of it's slim figure.

T rig, C rig, or a long profile Jig trailer are the more popular ways to rig it. The Rage Rig with a 1/8 to 3/8 weighted hook is a presentation that you shouldn't overlook either, I use it often over submerged grass or in shallow conditions. You can fish it extremely slow like a T rig or swim it as well.

Its really not that big AA,..the "standard" zoom brush hog comes in @ 6" and the rage hawg is 5". Both are great bass catchers! You'll be surprised at the small fish that will slam this bait too!!

I like to peg an okie blue rage hawg,1/4-3/8th tungsten bullet weight and experiment w/ a first slow drag all the way back, and then if no takers, speed it up a bit w/ hops---pause. let the fish tell you,but try a few retrieves before giving up on it if not producing right away..they will take it! :tongue8: you might want to give the SK rodent a shot if your looking for a" less-action/flashy" presentation.I pitch the rodent to some nasty deep grass flats and will just point 9 o'clock at it and slow pull through the grass....... :pig:

3/0 EWG with a 1/4 ounce parasite weight. If needing to punch through heavy weeds, use a 1 ounce.
