mikebone Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 Anyone ever fished this lake? Heard its ill just trying get some info on it before i drive 45 minutes to fish it Quote
Super User Jigfishn10 Posted May 20, 2012 Super User Posted May 20, 2012 If you do go, please let me know. I've always wanted to fish it, but I have never heard anyone talk about that lake, so I never went. If you're going to be in that area, then the concord river might be a better choice...MHO of course. Good luck! Quote
The one that got away Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 This may help: http://www.mass.gov/dfwele/dfw/habitat/maps/ponds/pdf/dfwcoch.pdf (not sure if link works) Quote
The one that got away Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 I guess the link does work. I think they have a good amount of tournaments there, I haven't fished there in years and years, but I've never heard anything bad about the place. Quote
grampa1114 Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 Haven't fished the lake in 2 years, they were having some weed problems and closed the passages between lakes. Don't know what's open and what isn't but it was my home lake for many years. There are many quality fish and a multitude of places to catch them on many patterns.......if the areas are accessable. I personally got a state pin for a 15-14 brood salmon there and occasionally a 20+ tiger muskie holdover from 20 years ago is caught. I was in a tournament there when a 5lb smallie was caught. I've never caught a smallie there personally but...........maybe I'll go this week. Quote
mikebone Posted May 23, 2012 Author Posted May 23, 2012 ya the concord river is my favorite but i wanted to fish a big lake nothing great up here but thanks everybody and if you go grampa1114 lemme know how you do Quote
grampa1114 Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 So...I said I'd report after my next trip.....it just took longer than I thought.....Fishing Rhino and I went to Cochituate today and we both did very well...we caught bass on senkos(Rhino) and sluggos(me) and spinnerbaits and crankbaits and grubs. We also caught crappie, pickeral, bluegill, and white perch. More than 20 bass mostly from 1.5 to 3.5 lb. We fished north lake and middle lake. We had a good time. Cochituate is alive and well and worth the trip. Added Note: There are kayaks and rowboats for rent at the ramp if you need them. Quote
