Super User South FLA Posted May 19, 2012 Super User Posted May 19, 2012 Its been raining all day here, but I was able to get out to the backyard to do a little bass fishing with my 3yo son, Adam. We weren't having much success and were about to give up, but I made my last cast and hooked up a nice bass on a Spro frog soon after splash down, I gave Adam the rod after the initial hook-set and he did the rest of the work, He was so excited when he finally got it to the shore that he kept say he caught a big TI_LA_PI_TA, because that is usually what he catches using dough balls. 1 Quote

Siebert Outdoors Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 Awesome pic and story. Nice shirt too. LOL Quote
Super User South FLA Posted May 21, 2012 Author Super User Posted May 21, 2012 Thanks for the heart felt reply fellas! I do stock the canal/pond system and have multiple feeders throughout the canal system, I have persuaded some neighbors to put some feeders up to help with the fishery. I have released 100s of bass and bluegill into the system. Its a pretty good fishery, but with over 7 miles of surface area it is not really manageable for me, more like fun. I love it because I can take Adam out in the backyard and catch bluegills and tilapia until he gets bored of catching and the convenience of having a jon boat ready to go whenever I get that itch to do some catching is pretty awesome. piscicidal Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 Awesome, bro. Soon he'll be a spro master like the ol man. Adam has now done something you and I will never do...catch a bass bigger than his age. 1 Quote
bocabasser Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 nice robert. won't be long until he is waking you up saying "let's go fishing dad". love it. Quote
Super User South FLA Posted May 24, 2012 Author Super User Posted May 24, 2012 Simply AWESOME! How did you get him yo hold the bass? My kid will touch'em but he won't go near the mouth, haha. I have had him catching fish since about 2 in the backyard so he hasn't had an issue, yet! He use to pick up grasshoppers until he brought one in and showed it to mom and her friend, they all freaked out jumping and yelling and have ruined him, kid is now deathly afraid of them, still trying to get that "mom" caused phobia out of his system. evrgladesbasser Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 What a great pic! You got him to hold a fish, and smile. My kids will never do both at the same time. Very cool man Quote
