Went to my buddies house yesterday in Sandown NH and hit up Hunts Pond which looked fairly private. Caught about 15-20 dink bass around a lb or so but all off top water frogs which is always fun. Had a good time.

Nope. Let us know how it is if you go.

I caught a few dink LMB at Houghton's last night, both around 10 inches. One on a bluegill colored crank. The second on a jitterbug in the dark. It was fun trying to get the hooks out with my phone in my mouth and the flashlight on--apparently I need a headlamp.

I've been to Hale before, just wondering if anyone else had. I've gotten a good amount of rainbow trout at storrow pond in there and a dink LMB at noanet pond. My dad ha caught a couple at noanet pond, including one between 4 and 5 pounds.

I've never bass fished at Houghton's before, but ive hear there are some nice ones in there. I mainly stick to the trout, which has been a losing battle lol. Gotta go right when they stock it.

I've been to hale it's such a nice area. I actually tried going there on Sunday but it was closed because of day camp. I've never caught any big fish but everytime I go there I catch at least one bass. My mother caught her first bass there so I'll always remember that place fondly. It would be so much better if they let you put your own kayak or canoe in. It's a beautiful place to fish.

I agree with that, Rob. I've heard of people who have caught 8 pounders there. If you fish near the dock at Noanet there's a good amount of fish to be had. I've never fished Powisset but it was closed to camp the time I tried. I would go a lot more often if I lived closer to it.

Oh my god 8lbers I live the next town over from it. I need to go there more often. I think I might get a membership next year then I'd be able to use their canoes. I've only stayed on one side of it I need to explore more the next time I go.

That'd be a great idea. I bet the fishing there is awesome from a boat. The shoreline spot I fish is pretty good, as well, with the dock and a nice dropoff 20 or so feet out. By the way, check out a forum called MA Fishfinder if you get the chance. It's a forum that I'm pretty active on and it's all guys from Massachusetts, mostly eastern. It's a friggin awesome forum. My username is "baystateangler" if you look into it.

Haven't been doing too much freshwater lately. I've been hitting the beaches a lot and striking out. I'm determined to catch some nice stripers and blues, just have to put in my time.

I've got that same feeling. I have some friends who just bought a nice 30 footer this year. They tell me they caught 37 stripers the last time they went out on the water. I go out with them twice trolling and we don't get a single bite! So hopefully I can get out there with them again and finally hook into one.

Went to the pond near my house, got 5 little smallies and a small pickerel. All under a pound, but it was nice having the non stop action. All the bass off a black senko, almost all of them hit it on the fall. The pickerel I caught on a jerkbait

Hey Mike where did you move to? You have a pond that has smallies? We should meet up sometime and fish.

I'm up in danvers now, there's a pond right up the street from me, good access once the water goes down some.

Kayakable?

There's signs posted that say no, but every time I've been there I've seen multiple people kayaking, so I would say it's very loosely enforced

Got out to BHR Thursday around supper time, made six or seven casts and got recalled to work.....  I'm heading to VT next week.  Planning on dropping the kayak in Kent Pond in Killington.  Should cure my withdrawals....  I hope to catch something other than a buzz....

Finished both jobs and the girls were out so what's the best thing to do when you've got a couple hours to yourself.  GO FISHING.  I stopped by BHR on the way home, started with a black/blue chatter bait.  Got nothing but backlashes from my normally backlash-proof T3.  I ditched the chatter bait and stripped off a length of line and tied on a 5" watermelon slice Senko, wacky rigged.  I left my patience in the truck so I shelved the Senko for a 7 1/2" T-rigged chili pepper Culprit worm.

The Culprit produced a 2+/- pound bass in just a few casts.  This fish was ticked enough to take some line off my reel, to my suprise.  I then caught a pound/pound + 1/2 bass on the very next cast.  That's twice this year the Culprit worked on consecutive casts.... go figure.  What really blew my mind was the size of the bass that followed #2 to the shore, something I've NEVER seen before, and sure don't know why.  The video I took is too big to post here, so here's the Youtube link.  Pretty cool.

I don't know why they're 90 degrees out of whack, but here they are:
