Mr. Aquarium Posted November 8, 2020 Posted November 8, 2020 Got a bunch today at a new pond.  Busted as gettin there. Fished 1-830.  Slow bite till sunset, then got a bunch quick. Hudd shad and Matt’s 6 inch strong shad.  Figured night bite would be great. Grind for em.  Fished a couple different baits without a whack, switch to the 7 inch black slammer  as I work my way around the pond,  started getting dinks. I was near the launch cast out, my last cast, gets smoked, fish missed the 7 inch slammer. Switched to the 9 inch, and it smoked it.  2  good fish and bunch of dinks. Biggest 2, 3.13 and and 4.12. 1 Quote
Mr. Aquarium Posted November 10, 2020 Posted November 10, 2020 It was an awesome night!!!! Decided to try  my luck In the yak in a cape cod salt pond for some late season stripers.  Got 3 fish.  No idea how big. 1st fish came on an 8 inch floating Matt’s strong shad, the 2nd fish on a low float TK, 3 fish and the biggest came on a 7 inch floating Matt’s strong shad.  Super pumped about these fish. Then I decided to hit  a pond. 3 bites 2 fish. Matt’s meathead wake and 7 Inch slammer,  both fish 2.13 and 3.15 1 Quote
JAB50 Posted November 10, 2020 Posted November 10, 2020 Anyone have any recent water temps of ponds and lakes on cape cod? Quote
Dunks N Dinks Posted November 11, 2020 Posted November 11, 2020 51-52Â at wequaquet as of last weekend, 53-54 at LPH ... bite has been...STINGYÂ Quote

Styguy922 Posted November 11, 2020 Posted November 11, 2020 Fished a cove off the Nashua river on Sunday....53-54 degrees. Bass were biting small swimbaits and square bill cranks. Tons of baitfish jumping everywhere and managed to bag a handful of small bass and one huge pickerel but nothing big. Went again today and had very little success.  Really want to try and get a few large fall bass in the upcoming weeks on swimbaits while I can before I switch to mainly jerkbaits in December, assuming the water temp dives to mid-lower 40's and they stop biting some of the faster moving stuff  Hope everyone has some good chances to get out this week/weekend!  Quote
Don51 Posted November 12, 2020 Posted November 12, 2020 DogBone, have you been chasing any trout down at Little? I would love to be able to fish there right now. Prime time! Quote

Mr. Aquarium Posted November 12, 2020 Posted November 12, 2020  Busted ass bring my battery, motor, anchor gear through the woods to a boat I got stashed chained to a tree, get there. No  boat. I only managed one dink on a jig shore fishing. Missed a decent fish burning a 9 inch chartreuse slammer. Quote

Maybe get one of those camo nets to throw over it? Quote
Super User DogBone_384 Posted November 15, 2020 Super User Posted November 15, 2020 Fished Lower Chandler pond for the first time. Decent little pond. It's shallow, has a lot of points, docks, and downed timber. Four LMB, one pound each, made it to the kayak. One came on a Yoga Pants Ned and the other three on a weightless green/red flake Zoom Super Fluke. All baits were still when inhaled.   Chatterbaits, jerkbaits, flat cranks, and square bills of various colors couldn't buy a strike. Water temps were 55.x, winds were about 10 mph from the West, and air pressure was 30.2.  Looks like it's time to S L O W down.  If I'm lucky, I'll get after some SMB tomorrow. Don51 Posted November 15, 2020 Posted November 15, 2020 That used to be a real good pond! Was Upper all weeded in? It would get real thick, but held some good fish! Quote
Super User DogBone_384 Posted November 15, 2020 Super User Posted November 15, 2020 It still is. A coworker lives close by and does very well there.  I pulled up some dead vegetation, but not much. Quote
Don51 Posted November 15, 2020 Posted November 15, 2020 Island Creek, a little further down the road, is a good fall pond also. ? Quote

You ever get anything big from It? I’ve fished it a few times but not in recent years. I’ve got some decent fis from upper Quote
Don51 Posted November 15, 2020 Posted November 15, 2020 Nothing over 5lb. More of a numbers pond. Had days where I could get a few in the 3-5 lb range.  Picks over 3lb also. Quote
Mr. Aquarium Posted November 15, 2020 Posted November 15, 2020 Decent bite today. Handful of chunky fish biggest 3.5. Few big jumbo perch biggest 1.8. Blade bait, lipless, small swimbait got it done 5 Quote
Super User DogBone_384 Posted November 22, 2020 Super User Posted November 22, 2020 Tried Mash/Wake this morning. Day started bad and spiraled downward from there. Packed it up less than 2 hours in.  Two guys were fishing from shore as I pulled up. One caught a 3-9 SMB as I walked up to my truck. He and his cousin doubled SMB about as big as the first one as I backed down the launch.  Water temps were 55.x  Congrats to Mr. Aquarium on a good trip. Quote
Dunks N Dinks Posted November 26, 2020 Posted November 26, 2020 Birds the word. @Saltysmalljaws and I had quite a holiday morning experience on LPH today. We were treated to a brief Osprey and a Bald Eagle dogfight, saw seagulls dive-bombing on juvenile herring, and hauled in a half-dozen hungry smallies (and at least 20 white perch) before 9am. Fortunately for us, the gulls took much of the guesswork out of the equation at first light, as they lined several segments on the windblown north shore. We only had to rotate between a few presentations before Salty cracked the first bass on a jerkbait up shallow, and then another, and then another. I cleaned up two a bit deeper on a finesse swimbait/underspin...and ended the quick trip with a solid 2.5lber on a blade. Salty took honors with his almostttt 4lber (20.5" but skinnny). Water temps were 48-49.  Happy Holidays Ya'll, its ~officially~ cold-water smallie season. 4 Quote
Super User DogBone_384 Posted November 28, 2020 Super User Posted November 28, 2020 Happy Thanksgiving Derek!  I broke out the waders for the first time in forever and went to Hedges.  I was there just a short time and got called into work.  Luckily a small SMB ate a green pumpkin/chartreuse Ned I let sit on a drop off.  The little fella still had some fight in it...  There were plenty of bait fish in the dead grass along the shore.  It AIN’T over yet! 1 Quote
Mr. Aquarium Posted November 29, 2020 Posted November 29, 2020 Decided to hit a new pond on the cape, checked it out in the early spring from shore.  Shallow very weedy. I worked my way along the eastern shore to the the NE shore line. Nothin. Weeds were almost to the surface couldn’t work much. But there was Enough water between the shore line and weeds to cast a lure. Tried chatter bait, tiny klash. Weedless hudd and jerkbait, nothin to show. I worked my way over to a shallow wind blown cove. I almost wrote it off due to the weeds near the surface but the wind blew me into the open water thankfully. Got 2 on the vision 110  jr.  Nothing big pair of 1.5ers. Fish were shallow in the dying pads. had another whack on the tiny klash. kept fishing and working my way along the sun baked shore. It got deeper and weeds weren’t as bad. No hits.  I did see a ton of bait up shallow at the launch.  on my way back Home to marshfield. My trailer blew a tire on route 3 north, between exit 3 and 5. Anyone sees that boat, it mine, lol. Goin back tomororw to grab it! Quote
gjfisher Posted November 29, 2020 Posted November 29, 2020 Hope everyone had a great thanksgiving. Few bass today, but a big pile of yellow perch. They went nuts at every bass lure I threw today. Caught them on jerkbait, small swimbait, drop shot and even 3/8 oz jigs! I have never seen them so aggressive feeding. I did manage to catch two bass--one on a jackall rerange and one on a drop shot in 28 FOW. Water temp was 48-50 degrees.   2 Quote
