Unsuccessfully ventured out today to try and find some pockets of water at some of my shore fishing spots around here north of the wall (bridge).  Totally overestimated the small warmup we've had.

Got a late start to my day so I didn't travel much but I'm gonna make it a full day mission tomorrow. Curious if anyone further south was able to find fishable water.

Cool, pls report back. I got a couple of Fuegos I want to try out and need to find open water.

Gonna make a few stops myself.

I’ll let you know what I find.

Where ya from?

I live just south of Boston and had to go to Cape Cod to find open water.

Gonna give it a go again tomorrow.

Hanson! Grew up in Abington but do most of my fishing in Plymouth. Might settle for trout at Long Pond Plymouth.

If I can’t find open water on South Shore, I’m starting @ Snake Pond in Sandwich.

Hey BigEyed, don't rule out Little Pond if it is not iced in. Plenty of trout in there!

Cape is best chance for open water. Only spot north of the bridge is long pond.

got a nice little brookie yesterday.

Didn't get out today, had to fix my door and then I had the lure making bug.

I'm working on a bass lure based on a salmon lure. Once I get the last piece of the puzzle I'll post up.

I want to make a few up and see if I can get some lure testers here. Lemme know if you're interested?

I can't guarantee I'll catch anything with it, but I'll let you know how they cast & swim... ?

I'll leave the catching to @Mr. Aquarium and @Saltysmalljaws...

Found some open water on the south end of Sabbatia. Threw a wacky rigged senko, paddlebait, and dragged a craw real slow but no takers.

Itching to head over to the cape to look for more water.

@Don51 i've had decent luck with bass over at Little as well, got a few largies there back in late December when Billington was iced up.

Never made it out this weekend as well, woke up Saturday and checked Windfinder to see 20 knots all across the Cape and decided better of it.

There are definitely nice bass to be had in Little. My girlfriends grandfather’s season best 7.5 came out of there this past September.

I drove to Goose Pond and found the same.   Hopefully Cape Cod stays open.  I've not caught my February fish yet and everything within an hour of me is locked up...

We'll see how it goes. ?

Wow that’s a big bass. Alway knew there was big bass there but always thought it was a tough pond to fish

I just took this off On The Water's website...  It looks like ice fishing time!

"Hardy New Englanders took to the South Shore in hordes over the weekend, according to Pete from Belsan Bait and Tackle in Scituate. With good surface ice, it made for some odd couples as fishermen were having their traps triggered by errant hockey pucks. Reports were that the fishing more than made up for the occasional false flag! The bass bite was good with some talking of 4-pound Larrys and pot-bellied perch. If there ever was a sweetwater fish that doesn’t get the respect it deserves in these parts, it’s the yellow perch, but catch a 1 1/4-pound jumbo all ablaze with spawning colors and you’ll be likening it to a northern peacock bass – sort of! Anglers had warm-water species action on Jacobs Pond, the Norwell Bog Ponds, Lilly Pond and the Widows Walk Golf Course pond. Some have targeted trout successfully at Little Pond."

I'm packing my shelter, auger, and tip-ups and looking south for Sunday afternoon... Anyone interested, drop me a PM.

possible trip to the Q this spring

Absolutely.  Fishing Rhino and I fished only once together last year.  As long as the "great Commonwealth" opens it up for rentals, I'm in.  I'm sure I could convince Mr. Aquarium and a coworker to go too.

I wonder if the state would pick up on my motor if I took the 70 off the cover and replaced it with 25 !?!?!?!?!?!?
