suzukibullfrog Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 hows the big O doing? havent really been there in a while. i know its slow but hows the fishing doing? Quote
piscicidal Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 I am thinking of doing the bass busters (silver) there tomorrow. Two days of little wind and the water is rising ....the bite should be off the hook. I'll post a report if I go. Quote
1234567 Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 I was out there today out of Moore Haven, the water was flat most of the day until early afternoon when the wind picked up slightly. The water was clear and the fish were hitting everything, execpt my bait!! I fished the grass in 3-5 fow and only caught small bass, 10-14 inches max! The gar were the most aggressive I have ever seen as I caught more of those than bass. Everytime I brought my bait back there were two or three gar chasing. I lost a biggun in the rim flipping and I caught a couple in the cattails flipping which was where the bigger bite seemed, but the grass was so thick in most of the areas I couldn't get through it. evrgladesbasser Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 I've been hearing good things. I'll be up there tomorrow too. If I get there in time I'll do the bass busters. I'll let you all know how it goes. Quote
Shane Procell Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012 One of the locals told me the bass are in wolfpacks on the outside edges. Quote
GLADES Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012 One of the locals told me the bass are in wolfpacks on the outside edges. I hope the calm winds hold out for a few more days. I am thinking about heading up there for a Tuesday AM session. Quote
gar-tracker Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 They're killing them up there. And I'm one week away from getting my boat two to be in the water by the time I get it rigged. I missed my favorite time of year, but my close second is summer. Sneak peak Quote
evrgladesbasser Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 That's looking good Gar-tracker. 34 pounds won at Lake O yesterday. That should answer any questions about the fishing conditions! Quote
Gotfishyfingers? Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 Lake O weights are incredible!! after the spawn and still producing massive bags! Quote
piscicidal Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 I didn't go to big O yesterday. Ended up fishing the glades instead. Talked to my buddy Mike (mikeyballz) last night. He fished bass busters yesterday and it sounded like a real hawg fest. Kicking myself right now. Quote
suzukibullfrog Posted May 21, 2012 Author Posted May 21, 2012 yea i fished sunday. alot of boats out there. from what i heard at the ramp was that top three of bassbusters on saturday was in the 30s. I personally didnt do nearly that well. i had about 8 or so pounds. caught dinks for most of the day. had a 8 or 9 lber on but came unbuttoned just out of the nets reach. it was a heart breaker. but all in all yea the lake is still pumping great fish and giant bags.
