Super User Raider Nation Fisher Posted May 18, 2012 Super User Posted May 18, 2012 I'm an electrician and a welder. I do the three basic forms of electrical construction being: residential, commercial, and industrial. I prefer industrial over the other two. I also do Instrumentation. I do GTAW, GMAW, and arc welding. To the extent of structural steel, supports, and piping; be it carbon steel or stainless. I currently am stuck doing commercial work, which will likely change in the next month. I will be going back to industrial work, where I will be doing electrical and welding. Quote

Us grown folks don't get spring break or extended periods of time off in the winter or summer. That's probably the only thing I miss about school. The long holidays were nice. Quote

We print envelopes, letters, and such to be mailed. I handle all the mailing lists and prepare them to address the envelopes or laser print letters and such. i also run said laser printers and help out on the inkjet printers for addressing envelopes if one of the normal operators is having problems. we do a lot of political mailings, non-profit orgs., self mailers, and the likes. Super User grimlin Posted May 18, 2012 Super User Posted May 18, 2012 What are those coils eventually used for?? The coils we do are automobile parts. They get sent to stamping companies where the part will be formed. We have also done steel for Canadian's roll mint(Yes it's Money),but not very often that we do them. Not the safest job to do. My buddy on day shift got his head cut open when a piece of steel fell through yesterday. Not sure why we don't wear hard hats, but we will be now real soon. It's hard labor work compare to what they show in the video, the video doesn't show all the work involved. It just shows the machine running. Quote
