We left Lakeland on schedule at 3 on the dot. About an hour north I feel and hear a BOOM under the hood. Still running just weak on power. I have blown the boost tube on the Banks turbo. An 11 mm deep socket, a can of hair spray and 20 min later we are north bound again. A couple stops and 8 hours later we are in Larenceville Ga. We got in about 2 am. In a few hours we will visit one of Nicole's friends and then headed to Pickwick.

Well yesterday I replaced my trailer bunks, new power cable for my side image, new feul connectors for my fuel line, and was able to test her out on the water for a few hours. So I'll be there with my boat Thursday at safe light at the State Landing ramp if anybody needs a seat!

Now I just need to buy some chartreuse JJ's from somewhere!

Leave now? I wish I were there now. This will be the slowest day of the year. I have an evening class; over at 7:50. Then I have to buy all the perishable foodstuff for the Soiree, drive home; a one hour trip; pack the coolers, load the car, and try to get some sleep. Planning to leave at 6am, wednesday. Be at Pickwick between 2 and 3pm.

The tasks at hand then will be to get ready for the Soiree, get my rods rigged with terminal tackle, and try to keep Kent sober long enough to see at least the beginning of the Soiree. Kent still blames me for him getting splat-faced at the first Guntersville RoadTrip, and missing out on Muddy's meatballs. I'm bringing plenty of coffee, but I'm not going to force it down his neck. LOL

Wouldn't ya know it.  I get a "Check Engine" light on the dash yesterday, and then a total loss of power.  Got a display that said "Reduced Power."  Well no shilt!  I couldn't drive more than 15 mph.  The truck goes into the shop first thing tomorrow morning, the day before I am supposed to leave.  Ask me if I am PO'd.

OK, I'll play. ARE YOU PO'D YET?

When I arrived last year i seem to remember you two in the parking lot with beers in hand. Who knew only a few hours later Kent would catch or rather somebody else in a boat would land his what 8 pounder? I swear if I had caught anything over 5lb's I would have lodged a protest. :eyebrows:

Got some good news.......my sons 8 pm baseball game was postponed due to scheduling conflict I think!

I don't care about the why.....just that it got postponed.

Now I can get 6+ hrs sleep instead of 3 or 3-1/2 hrs.

Will make the drive down much better!

I guess it is just a sign that we were meant to attend the road trip this year.

Good news!  My truck is fixed!  Bad news!  It cost me $470.  I'm headed out in the morning and should arrive around 5:00 PM.

Tough day. 3 casts in I boat a 3 pounder and I'm thinking this is going to be an epic day. Not. Only one more in the boat all day.

Swabby on deck! Arrived Tuesday night, and fished this morning out of JP Coleman. Wind. Fish had lock-jaw. Only two fish and they were dinks... Better luck tomorrow, and I have a free seat if someone wants to join me!

I have a boat, but just out of curiosity what happens if you don't have one?
