I've finally decided on what to do.  I want to run a little contest with everyone thats going on the Road Trip.

So here is the details.

Contest will be May 2,3,4th

Who ever catches the biggest fish on one of my lures will win $25 worth of jigs or spinnerbaits.

The rules are simple and we are going by the honor system because I want all the fish released as soon as possible and unharmed.

Fish   Smallmouth or Largemouth  only

Please take a picture of the fish with the lure in its mouth and another picture of the weight of the fish on a scale to where I can see the weight of the fish.

I want this  to be fun and see what kinds of fish are caught.  I need some new pictures for my website and all pictures will be put up on my webpage.

sounds good.

one problem.... i'm probably the only one who doesn't have any of your jigs..  :sad10:

being a non boater, fishing from the bank isn't very friendly to fishing a jig, and fishing in the back of a boat with guys who fish 100mph it's impossible to fish one.

i'll gladly purchase some once i get there so i can participate...  and...maybe you can pick 4 or 5 that you would recommend (and we'll keep that part a secret)   :wink2:

If you need a Seibert jig to participate in the contest, I can hook you up.

I have several jigs.  So you can take your pick.  I cannot use them in MA because of new regs  banning the use of lead under one ounce, or shorter than 2.5 inches, if I'm not mistaken.  That does not include skirts and trailers.

I'll be fishing them while I'm at Pickwick.  I have a decent assortment from which you can choose.

Siebert-

Great idea for a contest. If you will bring an assortment of your jigs to the road trip I guarantee I will buy at least $25 worth--so it will be worth your while to bring them? and then I will break even when I win the contest!

Let me know asap if you cannot do this--I will order some on line as long as I can pay the extra fee to have them overnighted to me in Florida--let me know.

thanks, dinky

thanks guys...

i'll gladly pay for them...no problem..

is it bad if i'm more excited about this trip....(meeting a bunch of men i have never met) than i was about the last trip i took with my wife?? :whip2:

I cant take part in the "pic contest" if I order more jigs , then  the bait monkey wakes up and then the tail spin starts all over again. LOL

Bassisaddicting......if you get pair with me, no worries, cause my friends that fish with me are screaming "hey a**hole, get on the trolling motor, I flipped that tree 8 times already."......speeding up is something I am trying to do.

which is one of the things, even as a boater, I am looking forward to see: How other people fish. I fish alone 90% of the time. So I greatly welcome seeing how other attack laydowns, points, ect, ect.

I'll have some stuff with me.  So no worries.   I have to any time I go anywhere anymore.

Bassin,  I laughed out loud on that one and people in the office were looking at me.

I have aquired a modest collection of Siebert Jigs over the years.

You can buy any jig I have for replacement cost only. Some are

custom builds which Mike may not stock, even though he built them

at one time.

I also carry Bobby's Evolution Jig, NorthStar Black and Original

Swim Jig. I have a few customs from 00 Mod, too.

We won't run out.

Yes and Rhino has his own costume!

How the lake setting up? Is it going to be a top water fest or are we going to have to fish current breaks? I've done a bit of research and can't get a solid read on it yet.

I will have VERY detailed, "real-time" intel when we arrive. Right now it's

jerkbaits, Red Eye Shad and The Rig. Both structure and cover are key as

long as there are baitfish in the vicinity. Generally the bass are being caught

in less than than 15' of water.

More importantly, we have our "Ace In The Hole". I know Big O will share everything

he learns on his first day fishing Pickwick again thie year. As everyone must surely

know, he has a knack for finding fish. I suspect a variety of Rage Tail Baits will come

into play!

Plus... While ya'll are enjoying the scenery along the interstate or eating airplane food on Wednesday, Nicole and I will be on the water with a guide so that information will be available on Thursday morning for a small fee. :eyebrows:
