ProCrafter Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 I arrive in Nashville the night of the 30th and will be driving from there in the am on the 1st can make the activities.......will be flying out of Nashville on the 7th so I have some "Tourist" time in the Music City! Quote
Super User Fishing Rhino Posted March 29, 2013 Super User Posted March 29, 2013 I am booked for Wednesday and Friday. Long Michael has dibs on Thursday, Saturday or Sunday. I'll have a seat available for two days. When LM makes up his mind, I'll know which two days it is. Quote
bassin is addicting Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 i'll be there for the wed evening festivities and will be glad to pitch in with a donation that night and every night. this will be my 1st trip. very much looking forward to the fishing and meeting all of you. it is fun to read the bantor/trash talk that goes back and forth between all of you that is the result of past roadtrips. i hope to be able to dish out some and of course absorb my share in the future. lol! question.... being my 1st trip. i'm confused (which is easy for me). i see some of you are pairing up to fish......and i can understand that since you have met from past trips and don't get to see eachother except for the roadtrip, it is good to be able to spend that time with an "old friend". i'm a non-boater. should i be looking to get paired up? or will that all be taken care of once we get there. i see the "schedule of events" say blind draw?? thanks...and i can't wait...... I've got two open days on my boat, depending on what Long Mike wants. If you want to claim one of those open days, speak up, and you've got it. If need be, we can fish three from my boat. Two on the bow and one on the stern. Quote
Super User 00 mod Posted March 29, 2013 Super User Posted March 29, 2013 Don't fish with Rhino! He will make you think you have never had a rod in your hand before!!! Jeff Quote

Super User Long Mike Posted March 30, 2013 Super User Posted March 30, 2013 Please guys, don't start pairing up so soon! As you all know, I'm trying to get out of my boat for the duration of the trip. Both Rhino and Dinky have kindly offered me a seat in their boats, and I gratefully accept their offers. However, I have not firmly committed to either of them. The reason? If you will go back to Page 1 of this thread and access the mini-website, it states that there will be a "blind-draw" for match-ups between boaters and co-anglers. I want to be part of that draw. To quote Forrest Gump, "Life is like a box of chocolates ..." Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted March 30, 2013 Author BassResource.com Administrator Posted March 30, 2013 Yup, you're right Mike, and it's my fault for starting that. My apologies. Quote
Super User Gatorbassman Posted March 30, 2013 Super User Posted March 30, 2013 My back seat will be available for the blind draw all but two of the days. Quote
bassin is addicting Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 speaking of food.... ok...... noone was speaking of food. for you Roadtrip veterans. what do you do for breakfast and lunch/food out on the water? is there a place to eat before we head out in the morning? and a store to buy lunchmeat, etc? Quote
Super User Fishing Rhino Posted April 1, 2013 Super User Posted April 1, 2013 There is a restaurant at the park inn that opens for breakfast at 7:00. Pack a lunch for the boat. There are places nearby where you can get the basics. There must be a supermarket in the area, but I don't know where. Maybe "downtown" Counce. It's not far from the park. If you're sharing a cabin, you can keep enough "fixins" in the fridge to make lunches. The cabins are equipped with a full kitchen so if you want a really early start you can whip up some eggs, bacon or whatever. This will answer some of your questions. http://www.bassresource.com/pickwick/pickwick-lake-points-of-interest.html Quote
Super User Fishing Rhino Posted April 1, 2013 Super User Posted April 1, 2013 I was incorrect. I came into Counce via route 57 for the last road trip. That is the "business district. There is a "supermarket" only minutes from the camp on route 57. There are also several places that sell bait and tackle in the vicinity. Quote

BassnChris Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 Closer and closer. Just keep gettin' more and more excited. Ordered my spare wheel bearings for the trailer today. Just about got everything we are gonna need for the trip. I know I already told you Gary......but just in case, I'll proclaim it again.......my wife and I will be attending your soirée. 1 Quote
Super User Long Mike Posted April 1, 2013 Super User Posted April 1, 2013 I'm not the type of guy who likes to be on the water at safe light. I have a tremor condition, and it is almost essential that I have a hot meal in the morning to help mitigate the shakes. I'm too lazy to prepare breakfast myself (after all. I'm on vacation,) so I head for a restaurant. Since we are staying in a cabin, we will have all the fixins for sandwiches at lunch, but I'm more than willing to stop for a hot lunch as the situation arises. As you can obviously infer from the above statements, I fish for fun, not for numbers. Quote
