zip pow Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 I have a boat, but just out of curiosity what happens if you don't have one? You tell Long Mike and he will link you up with a boater if your a none boater or met up at the evening meetings for a blind boater no boater draw Quote
scrutch Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 Well I should be arriving at Pickwick about now... If I were coming, that is. Instead, here I lay in bed typing on this iPad as my wife is making eyes at me. Suddenly I'm not so sad anymore. Gotta go! Quote

BassResource.com Advertiser FD. Posted May 2, 2013 BassResource.com Advertiser Posted May 2, 2013 Jeff do I need a c-rig or just my jig rod ? According to the guide that spoke last night, we should be fishing shallow. 0 - 4 ft kind of shallow. I'm tying my toad back on this morning and going to throw it up in the trees. If that does not work then a tiny jig/small plastic. Quote

scrutch Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 More reports! Post more reports! Simp, it sounds like this is your kind of fishing. FROGGIN! Quote
BassResource.com Advertiser FD. Posted May 4, 2013 BassResource.com Advertiser Posted May 4, 2013 Yesterday Alpster and I went out in the morning. We boated around 25 lm, sm, and spots with the biggest being a 2-6 spotted bass. The high light was a frog bite we found in the back of a flooded pocket. Nothing big but lots of fun. 1 Quote
BassResource.com Advertiser FD. Posted May 4, 2013 BassResource.com Advertiser Posted May 4, 2013 We have had three speakers in three nights and I have learned more in those three hours than I have in the last year. If you are not here, you are missing out! 1 Quote
Super User 00 mod Posted May 4, 2013 Super User Posted May 4, 2013 For the 3rd year in a row, the Roadtrip curse has gotten me. 3 years ago, my wife got in a car accident and was hospitalized and I didn't get to go. Last year on the way home, I got the call my grandmother had bone cancer and she lived only a few short months. Then Thursday mid-day, I get a call my manager who I left to run my store was in the hospital with a collapsed lung. So now I am here back at work, missing the last 3 days of fun, fishing and camaraderie. Sucks for me, but hopefully I can get back up there this evening or tomorrow morning to have one good last day with all my friends!!! Hope the bite keeps up and everyone still slays them! My 5 day total was over 140 fish with the biggest smallie weighing 3.97. Jeff Quote
BassResource.com Advertiser FD. Posted May 4, 2013 BassResource.com Advertiser Posted May 4, 2013 Another 40 today and I was not using the drop shot/barbie rod. Good ole fashioned crank bait kind of day. Keri and I boated 15 in an hour on one hump just north of yellow creek. Quote

BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted May 5, 2013 Author BassResource.com Administrator Posted May 5, 2013 Had a great day today....40+ fish in the boat! Two days ago, we had a 100+ day!! Most fish are in the 1 1/2 lb to 3 1/2 lb range. Enough to keep you busy and havin' fun! Calm winds, sunny days, warm temps and the fish were bitin'! Can't get any better than that! 1 Quote
BassResource.com Advertiser FD. Posted May 5, 2013 BassResource.com Advertiser Posted May 5, 2013 We just spent another 2 1/2 hours with Big O. What an awesome dude. I'm still laughing/crying from the "Taco the cat" story. You cant pay enough money for this kind of stuff. Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted May 5, 2013 Author BassResource.com Administrator Posted May 5, 2013 Weights went up today! Plenty of 3- to-4 pounders caught today. Most people caught 20-30 bass - a mixed bag of largemouth, smallmouth, and spotted bass. I had a double-digit bass break off on me!! Should've retied a few casts before that. Doh! All-in-all, a great day on the water....again! 2 Quote
