I need to quite reading this thread for a few months. :laugh5:

Why? It's only seven months away. It'll be here before you know it, and seven months of your life will have passed by.

Hey Eric, the brakes are fine. Right now, I'm in GA, sans boat. Our daughter had surgery so we came down for a couple of weeks to help out.

I expect they'll make Pickwick just fine, provided I do.

You're gonna love Pickwick.

Actually, you need to try and come over this fall or winter for a shot at a new PB.

I have friends we can stay with and you don't need to trailer your boat. We are

already catching a few, but Prime Time begins when the water temperature drops

another ten degrees (78->68).

New to the forum here - live only 15 minutes from the Pickwick ramp. Have noticed this get-together next May at Pickwick. Can help many of you with recommendations for restaurants, hotels, etc. In the meantime, I'll be fishing the GreenWater almost weekly.

We have cabins and rooms reserved at Pickwick State Park by the dam,

but bring on recommendations for everything else!

State Park or JP Coleman Park should certainly suffice. By water, only 4-5 miles from each other. Obviously, this topic will get more hits the closer to the date. I'll follow along in the meantime. Roadwarrior, we'll need to hookup at some point.

The only fly in the ointment is that on the last trip we fished Pickwick on a moon tide, following the monsoon that shut down Nashville. It's gonna be a different body of water unless rain of Biblical proportions preceeds our arrival. There was no fishing the docks on that road trip. The docks that were fixed were anywhere from a foot to five or six feet underwater.

Still the fishing was amazing, particularly when the conditions are taken into consideration. How often does a smallmouth take the largest fish award. Speaking of that, has anyone heard from Uncle Leo, or Old Cranky lately?

I have fished Pickwick 5 or 6 times over the past several weekends in preparation for and in a state tournament that our club fished as a team. My first time on the lake. We did pretty well finishing 4th out of 13 teams. The thing I want to bring up is that although this lake is known for smallies (I had alot of fun catching several of those) one of the guys on our team won big fish with an 8 lb 14 oz LM......that right there is enough to make me go back this spring!! This lake has em all....green, brown and spots!!

I am new to this forum but am going to try and make it, unfortunately I won't know my schedule until Jan. Live in Huntsville and have never fished this lake, go figure.

Don't feel bad, I live in Florence and ain't fished Guntersville yet.

I grew up in Huntsville and fished Guntersville quite regularly. Moved near Pickwick back in 1995. Still fish both and love 'em both.

Are these cabins multi-roomed? I.e. two rooms with two beds in each room?

Yes, two BRs with two double beds in each room.

Yes, two BRs with two double beds in each room.

Better check with them on that. I'm pretty sure the cabin Mary and I had was a one bedroom unit.

I've slept a couple of times since than, so I could be confused.
