Mumpy Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 I'm still learning my boat and everything but the one thing I want to do is be able to take all the information like waypoints and stuff out of my Lowrance, come inside the house and load em up on the Computer and edit the names and even add way points and then put them back on the Lowrance. How do I do that? Thanks a bunch guys Quote
Todd Driscoll Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 To view and edit your Lowrance .usr file, you need wpt management software. Lowrance MapCreate is now out-of-date and is hard to find. I prefer Navionics NavPlanner2 software. With this software, not only can you import your wpts, but you also have all the Navionics maps built-in to view on the computer. Quote

Does this software work with the older GPS models?? Quote
Todd Driscoll Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 Yes, NavPlanner will work with older units. One other note - with HDS and NavPlanner, you must save your HDS .usr file as version 2 or 3. NavPlanner is not compatible with version HDS version 4 files. Quote
Mumpy Posted May 18, 2012 Author Posted May 18, 2012 Todd, I purchased the NavPlanner but I don't see how I can upload my .usr file. I'll look at it tonight. We should do a How To write up, hehe and of course when I say "We" I mean... You, hehe Quote
Todd Driscoll Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 The user interface with NavPlanner is somewhat complicated. What you have to do is go to your Waypoint Library (second icon on top menu) and Import your .usr file (first icon on library menu at top). Quote
