Super User clayton86 Posted August 31, 2012 Super User Posted August 31, 2012 My brother in law has a Brittney smartest dog ever she has pushed me a few fox and deer un intentionally lol. She follows us out into the woods but stays like 150-200yds back and we always stop by the pond which is where she catches up thinking were bird hunting without her and we have to yell at her to go home in which she takes the short cut threw the neighbors woods always kicking something out. shootermcbob Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 This is Maggie, our Brittany. In the pic she was a pup; she is now 3 1/2. Beautiful dog. I just love ours. 1 Quote
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted September 1, 2012 Super User Posted September 1, 2012 Beautiful dog. I just love ours. Thanks kindly. We purchased her at just the right time. When she was about one when my mom passed away. Her death was very sudden, and it crushed our family. That said, the dog provided such an enormous comfort for us during that time; she really helped us take our mind off things. Quote
Super User 00 mod Posted February 19, 2013 Super User Posted February 19, 2013 Along with Winston who will be turning 3 in 3 days, we also adopted Lola in August of 2012.  Winston  Lola \ 1 Quote
Hanover_Yakker Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 Some of you may already know this from our discussion in the Westminster Kennel Club thread, but to the uninitiated my wife and I are champion breeders of Welsh Springer Spaniels. The Welshie is only one of four breeds of origin to have "red" as their primary color. All other breeds that have a red or mahogany coat color today have had it bred into their lines. We currently have three in our household and co-own 5 other champions that live across the US. Here are ours:  Savannah (the foundation ***** of our kennel) is laying down and is the mother to our other two at home, Tegan (left) and Colin (right). They are 12 (going on 13) and 9 respectively.  Here are a some others you might enjoy..... 2 Quote

Greenstealth Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 Around last valentine's day, the wife and I decided to purchase a 7 week old rottweiler pup. He here is as we pulled up to the house...  He isn't much of a good first mate or fishing buddy (he sleeps on the job a lot)  Luckily for all of us, I got a bigger boat  What a great friend he has turned into. He is a 120 Lb ball of laughs. Sure he has some puppy moments but so far, so good. 3 Quote
Super User Darren. Posted February 19, 2013 Super User Posted February 19, 2013 Currently, a mixed lab named Jake almost 11 years. He's my boy. Looks like an English Lab in stature. Our other dog (my eldest son's dog, actually) is a mix: father was a Bichon Frise+Maltese, and the mother a PeekaPoo. His name is Kobe Bryant, after my fav hoops player in the game today! We didn't name him, the breeder actually named the litter after the Lakers. Quote

Greenstealth Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 How old is he now? He is one of the best looking Rotties I have seen. Very impressive dog. Â Thank you for the kind words, he is really built well, we are careful with his diet and he has taken a very nice form. He is now 1 year and 2 months old. The last picture was taken on december 7th so he wasn't quite a year old yet. He is a big dog, but his temperment and attitude towards other people and animals has been incredible. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't apprehensive about getting one of these dogs, their reputation may not be the best in certain crowds. He's been nothing but a blast. I love coming home from work and having him greet me. I really can't say enough good things about him. 2 Quote
Super User Tuckahoe Joe Posted February 20, 2013 Super User Posted February 20, 2013 I have a 5 year old Austrailian Shepherd named Claudio. I know I know....weird name. My girlfriends kid named him after the lead singer of this band I hate (Coheed and Cambria). He was originally calling the dog Coheed and I was like no....im sorry but no...thats not happening. So Claudio was the compromise we came to. It was around Christmas 5 years ago. I had been living at my girlfriends house for about a month of so. We pull into the driveway one night and sitting on the patio is this dog in a crate with a note on it. Apparently her alcoholic abusive ex-boyfriend who she has a No-Contact order against bought it for her in an attepmt to win her back. She didn't want to keep him because of where he came from but I wouldn't let her get rid of him. He was kind of a monster when he was little. He got into a lot of trouble including eating a brand new couch. After that he was almost out the door but I took him, moved in with my grandma for a few weeks and worked with him. After a while he was as good as gold. Weird as hell, but a good dog. For example, he can't walk properly on non-carpeted floors. If he gets on hardwood or tile of something, he always walks backwards with slow cautious steps and will try and push himself up against a wall or a table or something. And hes gets scared of the dumbest things. It was really windy last week and there was a trash can lid in our backyard. When we tried to let him out, he just sat on the porch for 10 minutes staring at it and trembling and would go out til I picked it up. If someone knocks on the door they hear this big ferocious bark but hes the biggest sissy you'll ever meet. I swear owning this dog is like being the parent of a special needs child but I wouldn't trade him for anything in the world. 1 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted February 20, 2013 Global Moderator Posted February 20, 2013 Our newest addition to the pack, a little Golden Retriever we named Cassidee. Hopefully she'll be a duck dog by next winter but she'll certainly be my fishing buddy even if she doesn't work out as a duck dog. Her first fishing experience at 3 months, didn't seem to mind it too much. My wife with her a 4 months. Now at 6 months last week, still hasn't figured out what to think of these cold, slimy things that I keep pulling out of the water. She does love the water already though, seems the more mud and stick tights and cockleburrs she has to run through to get to the water, the better. 1 Quote

flippin and pitchin Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 We had a chocolate Lab named Brie. We took her from the pound the day she was to be put down. She was sick, under nurished and just a mess. Our Vet questioned us even taking her but we nursed her back. I had her for over 11 years and she evenyually had liver cancer. I held her when she was put down. I cried for an hour. I haven't got another dog since. I don't have the heart to go through that again. Quote
Super User Tuckahoe Joe Posted February 23, 2013 Super User Posted February 23, 2013 My brother used to have a dog that was a mix of German Shepherd, Rotweiler, Boxer, and Chow. That dog was a beast. He was real stocky and all muscle. Im talking all thick thick solid muscle. I can honestly say I never saw that dog sleep. He literally never sat still and was constantly running around. He was real friendly too and always wanted to play/wrestle around with me but he always played too rough and I'd end up getting hurt. Im sorry to hear that man. We had to have my girlfriends dog put down a few years ago. It's definitly a tough expierience. I was pretty tore up for a couple days and I only knew him for 3 or 4 years. She had him for 12 so I can only imagine how she felt. And our other dog was really upset and mopey for a few months. Those 2 were the best of friends since he was a puppy and then all of a sudden hes just not there. Felt really bad for him. Heres a picture. His name was Emmitt but I always called him Porkchop cuz he was an old fat dog.  Quote
