WookieeJedi Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 I got my wife a Weim for a wedding present when we got married that dog is so goofy and hyper and crazy and did I mention hyper. She loved to go fishing with us i had her pointing smallmouth in the river lol. we ended up moving and having to get rid of her so my in-laws took her and now she lives there with the horses. She was to hyper for the kids though she had a problem with that was never mean just to hyper and clumsy always stepping on them or jumping on them we could never put the boys on the floor or in a bouncer when she was in the house We have a German Shepard now my wife got him when I left for this deployment hes 10months I think now and great with my boys. I met him when i was home on leave hes a big old shep and super friendly and amazing with the boys hes super protective of both of them wich is nice with me being gone. Hyper doesn't begin to cover it. He still doesn't think 75 pounds is too big to be a lap dog. They do settle into a groove after the puppy stage. Any unsecured property left in the backyard is still forfeit, though. Being blind only slows him down when we take him out of there. He has the whole yard memorized, and he uses his nose more than ever. I had him trained to track deer, and I still think he could do it if I kept him on a leash for the search. Quote

I had ours doing pheasants for a bit her parents were champ bird dogs the guy was hardcore into wiems and viszla's(what I wanted) and he prided himself on that he didn't go the show route you see most wiems in now he kept them at there roots as bird dogs. Graycie was a natural at it too we just don't have many game birds around here almost none actually I just did it to try and calm her down getting her brain working. Now she just thinks shes a horse as she spends her days out in the barn and horse pasture with my wife's 2 horses. I'll try and get my wife to upload some pics of her when she was fishing with us and send em to me so I can post them I don't have any pics on my computer. Quote
Super User MCS Posted May 17, 2012 Super User Posted May 17, 2012 I have a French Mastiff named Ruby. Good looking dog. We have very good friends that own a french mastiff. We love all 165 pounds of that drool factory. If they weren't the size of small cattle we would deffinitely consider getting one. LOL Quote

Super User Raider Nation Fisher Posted May 17, 2012 Super User Posted May 17, 2012 Heard fiests can be good little hunting dogs. You hunt her? How big is she(I am assuming it is the one standing sideways)? Going to this year. We just hot her a couple weeks ago. She is the one standing sideways. She weighs about 15 lbs right now, but is underweight from her previous owners and having had a liter of pups a month and a half back. The other one is my parents dog. She is a mountain Feist. Both of them go nuts going after squirrels. The mountain Feist does phenomenal solo. However, these two are unstoppable when they work together. So ill probably have to take both of them and not just mine. Quote

Missouribassman95 Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 I am a proud owner/brother of a Topbrass Golden Retriever, the best goldens around. Bred for the field. His name is Saber, he's four years old and in his prime. If he sees a bird he's on full alert. What's special about Topbrass is " We choose only physically and mentally sound dogs in order to produce AWARD WINNING retrievers. All breeding stock is free of defects including Epilepsy, Heart Murmurs, Hip Dysplasia, Eye Abnormalities, and severe Allergies. Our girls are bred to the finest studs in the country. " I'm sure there are some members on here that have gun dogs, what kind do you have? Here's the website for Topbrass, http://www.topbrass-...s.com/story.htm I'm the proud owner of a fat yellow lab, by far the best lab in my neighborhood. I'm pretty sure she was bred to eat, because whenever she sees food, she's on full alert. What's special about my dog is "Back in her prime she was a skinny dog, but now she's kinda let herself go...so she's no longer AWARD WINNING, but is a pretty good dog otherwise". I would give you the link to my dog's website but well it's too top secret. 1 Quote

(she lives in Arizona now, due to skin allergies) I ain't seen many purebreds with a name like this. Princess Mary Margert McGonagal McDuff. We had papers that went back 15 generations with that dog. She is from a LONG line of champion Westies. She's a West Highland White Terrier. I have never had a dog with more health issues than she had. Quote

Zoff Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 Two GSD's. Had another but he died. The white one is Kiki. She was given to us as her kennel mate tried to kill her. The other is my boy, Jäger. 115 pounds of "lap dog". Both pure GSD with AKC. Tried to breed her but she won't take. Not from him or any other male so I know the problem is her. Shame!!! 1 Quote
Super User SoFlaBassAddict Posted May 18, 2012 Super User Posted May 18, 2012 Pug. Bought him last year after my previous dog passed. I can't not have a dog around the house. After having large breeds pretty much my entire life, I decided it was time for something smaller. Well, he may be small in size, but the d**n animal thinks he's 30 feet tall.... Older picture when he was around four or five months. He's around 18 months now. 1 Quote
MyKeyBe Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 Small and Dumb. Small is an American Eskimo named Baby. A.K.A. Foxy Loxy. Dumb is a Newfoundland named Jorge. A year and a half old and almost 150 pounds. A.K.A. Shamoosin. Quote
WookieeJedi Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 I love Newfs. I babysat one for a buddy back in school over one summer. We went swimming nearly every day. I would have wound up getting one if not for the hair and slobber. I had a lot of fun with that dog, and he could catch a regulation football in his mouth. You just didn't want it back. Quote
