I seem to get good feedback when posting questions like this, so I will try it again.

97 Jetta GLS, 4 cylinder, 5 speed, 2.0

I am trying to remove the power steering pump and I cannot figure out what bolts are still in tack that are helding the pump on. I have removed all the bolts/nuts that I could find.

I checked my car manual and it says to take out the bolts but the details are very weak. P.O.S. Haynes manual!!

Anyways, not sure if the pulley/belt are holding it on but how do you release the tension of the belt? I can't figure out how to do this.

Here are some pictures of the steering pump that I am trying to take off

can anyone help?

Did you remove the lines that go to it?

Also I would get a Chilton's manual if I were you.

I disconnected all lines. Something is holding the pump in but I can't see it.

I have been told to invest in a Bentley manual but I can't drop $50-$60 on one right now.

Never heard of a Bentley manual, but if they're 50 bucks, I bet they're pretty good.

I don't know much about Volkswagons. Is the serpentine belt the belt around the pulley or no?

You are on the wrong forum go to VWVORTEX.COM, it saved my tons of frustration when I had my VW Jetta w/ a stage 3 APR kit on it, that thing would always have an issue.

i already belong to that site but since it gets so much traffic and posts, posts get pushed further and further down the list....eventually missed.

besides, i have always gotten a good response from this site on things like this also.
