boondocks Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 Has anyone on here ever used the Jaw Breaker spoons made by Northland Tackle? This is another one of those lures that has excellent action, but the fish don't seem to think so from my experiences anyway.I originally bought one in the frog pattern and I loved the action but never cuaght nothing.I then seen one about a year later in firetiger that looked pretty tasty(I think the bait monkey attacked me this time) so I bought that one and still never cuaght a thing. Not even a pike.So I retired it from my tackle box into the crappy lure box.Anyone have any luck with this lure? Quote
CrazedL.IFisherman Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 I actually think i might have purchased one of those this past spring and havent used it yet, if you do in fact like the spoon type lures like this definitely invest in the rapala weedless spoons, i have caught some nasty bass and pickerel with this lure and a small crawfish looking trailer meant for spinnerbaits, for surface a more known and definitely used would be the moss boss, those who have used it a lot have had some heartbreaks with this lure and have caught some hawgs using it, a little off topic but a few good lures i have had success with, hope this helps any Quote
Super User Marty Posted November 11, 2006 Super User Posted November 11, 2006 Were the Jawbreakers failing you in areas that held fish, that is, areas where you caught fish on other lures but nothing on the Jawbreakers? I used to use them and some other brands of spoons some years back and used to catch fish in the lily pads where I most often used them. However, I haven't used spoons in years as I now much prefer various soft plastics when I need to go weedless. Quote
