Just ordered 2 Daiwa Aird reels. One in 7.1:1 an one in 4.9:1 and I only have one spare rod to put it on, i need to get another rod. Haha. Anybody else buy things on impulse?

Not so much rods and reels, but I can't walk by the crankbaits without grabbing a few.

Not when I'm broke...It kinda cures impulse buying....lol. I do stock up on baits I'm running low once in awhile.

But then again,I just brought a kayak.......yeah,not really an impulse buy but something i really wanted. I really wanted to get off shore, mission accomplished. I guess this was a plan of mine for awhile now.

Occasionally when a rod or reel is on sale and i think it is a good deal but not very often. But very seldom do i go into a store and not get a feww baits because i thik they will work or look cool.

Its usually a planned attack. Im actually planning on getting my hands on a Chronarch 50E sometime soon to mount to my Sellus rod. Otherwise its lures and line when needed.

I will say, I dont go out fishing shopping, and come back empty handed. I always leave with something, even if it is just on pack of hooks, or a crankbait.

Ive come back from BPS empty handed but usually cause they don't have what reel I went in looking for. If I go into a local shop I'll always come out with a few lures. Even though I don't need them. I can't seem to walk past the Sebiles without buying 3 or 4.

Wish my Mcdonalds salary would let me impulse buy like that! haha no, but I am a pretty bad impulse buyer, I've got enough flipping plastics to last me for years, and its tearing me up because my local spots have fighting frogs and hyperfreaks for like $1.50 a pack. And northlands for .99. I die a little walking by clearance lures and not getting any.

I am pretty bad about impulse buying. This spring I have bought 5 rods and reels. I keep finding good deals that I can not walk away from. I have a store near me that has been having really good deals on Falcon rods. I have bought 3 in the last few weeks, as well as a couple of shimano spinning reels.

I have an issue buying rods and reels all the time even though I don't really need them. I can't pass up good deals on ebay on Chronarchs especially if they are the B series. I MUST HAVE THEM because they are my ABSOLUTE ALL TIME FAVORITE REEL!! And if I walk into a tackleshop, I feel bad about not spending any money.

I have soft plastics/spinerbaits/crank/jigs for another 15 years......rod/reel combo only 4...but it's more then enough.........the worst think is that I taking all of it always with me ....and I'm 80% in shore ....so I must carry all of it .....in only 2 hands...... + coffee in my mug...and couple other things.

Even that I know ...i will not need it ..I'm always taking all my fishing gear.....I think this is pretty sad . LOL!

If i see a lure, plastics, or line on sale i have trouble walking away from it. When Dicks has there liquidation sales i spend a few hundred and stock up.

And i dont recommend surfing ebay while intoxicated, i tend to buy vintage lures or new rods/reels, lol.

I've got impulse well under control. I do my homework before I pull the trigger, having more that enough rods and reels already certainly helps. I was BPS last week and walked out only with some bucktails, that's all I needed and didn't even look at a rod or reel.

I do want to replace a few rods, but what I have is working well, until I break one, sell one, or just throw it out, I won't be buying.

I don't impulse buy but the local tackle shop mafia boss knows how to make an offer I can't refuse.

I just ordered a 7'6" powell diesel casting rods a few days ago. I really don't like buying rods without being able to hold them first, but oh well.

Yeah I just bought a Chronarch 200e7, dobyns champion 735c, a spool of sufix braid and 10 Spro frogs... happy birthday to me!

The Bait Monkey got Outdoorsman!

Nothing we can do now. It is too late.

He will now buy all kinds of fishing stuff if he needs it or not.

The Bait Monkey strikes again!!!

My Chronarch was a bit of an impulse purchase. I planned all along to pick up a Revo STX, had it in my mind that I'd be an Abu Garcia guy from now on, took a look at a Chronarch, and grabbed it.

I have a bad tendency to do that. I'll plan to pick up one thing (right now I'm thinking my next rod will be a Loomis GL2), see something else, and for no reason whatsoever buy that instead (watch me end up with a St. Croix or Dobyns now LOL).
