AustinRyanMize Posted May 14, 2012 Posted May 14, 2012 I am 16 an avid tournament Angler. I have a 3.8 GPA, never in trouble and I have a special connection with bass fishing that is like none other! I will promote your product to the fullest and report to you every week what your products do for me and tell you anything that I think may improve your products. Now to the fishing, I have finished 2nd in a club tournament out of 164 people at Lake Guntersville, 3rd at Smith Lake out of 30 people, 4th at Lake Guntersville out of 15 boats, 21st at Lake Eufaula out of 150 boats, 8th out of 40 boats at Neely Henry. I helped win back to back state championships for my school team. I joined a club and I was told I would never climb the points to be in the Top 10 of the year out of 32 people who had over 300 points on me, I told them they were wrong. I fished my butt off and at the end of this year I ended up in 10th place with 735 points. I need all the help I can get to pursue my dream of fishing in the Elite Series, without sponsors it will be impossible! Please consider me in your prostaff! Quote
Super User Sam Posted May 15, 2012 Super User Posted May 15, 2012 Get a college degree in biology or bass fisheries from a Sea Grant University; win your state BASS or FLW tournaments; win the win the BFL tournaments; win or do very well in the BASS Southern Open and you will be contacted by sponsors if you continue to do well. Many sponsors follow the Opens. Do well in the Opens and you will have a greater probability of securing sponsors as long as you continue to fish professionally and move up in the tournaments you participate. To fish the Southern Open you will need a boat and be able to travel to the various locations. It is expensive to get started as a professional bass fisherman. This is why you need the college degree to have a career that will allow you to fish and cover the overhead. If you still want to try to obtain sponsors you will have to use some shoe leather and visit various businesses to try to have them sponsor you. But that is another story in itself. 1 Quote

RangerDanger96 Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 Let your fishing do the talking first. Then let you do the talking. When you get into sponsors sometimes your fishing will suffer because you have to be more focused on promoting product, and you HAVE to do well in tournaments then. You represent a company and your success rate is how people will view your sponsor's products. You also must be sold out on your product. If you do not fully believe in it you are wasting your time. So, before chasing after sponsors like a wild man, just fish, and enjoy it. 2 Quote
