Is the fishing on this canal good? Runs along the turnpike from glades to sw 18th street?

I always forget to try it. What species are in there?

It can be good, but it gets pressured quite a bit. Some of the better attributes are that the canal is not high banked, plenty of places to park and you can walk and cover a lot of water, I've only caught LMB there. In my younger days like 2 years ago I would climb down the side of the Hillsboro canal on the other side of the spillway, it's real steep and high, but there are snook and tarpon in there, that isn't hearsay. Places that get less pressure are by the spillway, you can park in the subdivision and walk a few feet thru the bushes, I recall a little path there, or park by sw 18th and walk and fish all the down, it's a good walk. Second overlooked place is north of glades, just walk it up from glades to the golf course.

I use to fish that water system all the time with a small jon boat. I've caught peacocks as well as LMB in there. Haven't bin there in a couple years. The really cold winter we had then killed most of peacocks.

That is one of the easier walking canals, you are right at water's level.

That is one thing that I noticed. I hate super steep canals.

I may finally try this on the weekend. I saw some other nice canals near it too
