OHIO Posted May 14, 2012 Posted May 14, 2012 Because every one else is not a broke college student. Plus we can't be on the toilet all day the next day. It was meant as a joke, but ok. Quote
tipptruck1 Posted May 14, 2012 Posted May 14, 2012 Ohio I didn't know it was a joke. On the web it is some times hard to tell. But I if I offended you sorry. I ment my response to be a joke also. When I was your age I knew a lot of broke college students drank it. Quote
Traveler2586 Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 Sam Adams Boston Lager is the most handy. I tend to go for a dark beer, the darker the better; if you can read a newspaper through it - it's not beer. I was in Prague, Czech Rep. for many months and had an opportunity to sample many beers that have been in constant production for centuries. In fact I frequently had dinner in a pub that has been in continuous operation for five hundred years; they served one type of beer that you could drink all evening long without a hangover the next day. The down side of this experience is I can no longer enjoy mass produced American beers. I search out microbreweries to explore their darkest offerings. My point... Give me a dark beer that is smooth, creamy, and with a thick head. Please...... Quote

Super User Hi Salenity Posted May 15, 2012 Super User Posted May 15, 2012 Blvd Nutcracker is my favorite even the last 2 years of it have sucked! It unfortunately is the 1 beer I can't make a good clone of and brew myself. I'm shaving a few pounds now so it's down to a bud 55 every now and then. My old rig I built. Quote

fishinkeebs Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 If i am looking to throw down I prefer a coors light. When i just want to toss a few back i'll go for a molson canadian, guiness or longboard lager usually. Quote

Super User NorcalBassin Posted May 16, 2012 Super User Posted May 16, 2012 Guinness. My buddies and I used to buy it by the keg. Five guys one keg one night. Wow those were some crazy days. Whoa... that's crazy considering how "filling" Guinness is. Guinness is about all I drink and I pretty much limit it to Fight Nights (UFC) and family BBQ's. Pretty much always stop at #2. Quote
Super User Hi Salenity Posted May 16, 2012 Super User Posted May 16, 2012 Do we need to call homeland security? Lol I once told the wife I wanted to grow Tobacco. She asked why and I told her so that all 4 agencies of the ATF would have a reason to raid the house. 1 Quote

There use to be a bar down here that had Guinness and 24oz t bones. I use to polish off there or four Guinness's and the full meal. I would still have room left over. Guinness is the only beer other then becks dark were I don't feel full. Quote

The rig was pretty cool to brew beer all grain you normally will need to have different pots of water or wert at exact temps this rig is set up so a pump (or 2) can circulate the wert / strike water so it won't burn and to keep an even temp without having to constantly stir it . The burners were set up on furnace valves with pilot lights and digital controllers. long story short if you set a tank at say 150* the burner would turn on at 149* and off at 150* wile the pumps circulated everything keeping a pretty exact temperature crucial for making good beer. Jake P Posted May 16, 2012 Author Posted May 16, 2012 I havent heard of half of yalls choices......What happened to a good ol miller high life, bud light, budweiser etc? Quote
tipptruck1 Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 I do drink miller from time to time. Its not my favorite beer. If I choice between a pee in a bottle or guinness. I will pay the buck more for the Guinness. I will not touch light beer. I do not care if its free or not. I would rather go with out. As for Busch co beers. I can not drink them. If I have one I am on the toilet the next day. Quote
Daniel My Brother Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 Pretty straight forward. Bud Light longnecks at home. Busch Light cans in the great outdoors. Corona with a lime when I'm feeling fancy. Quote
Super User MCS Posted May 16, 2012 Super User Posted May 16, 2012 Love any of the Stone City Brews, any Sierra Nevada(bigg fooooot), Shipyard, Full Sail and Sessions. Cheap beer, is mostly what I drink now Mickeys, Busch, if I step it up a knotch my go to is Yuengling. I will also give a couple shout outs to Bold City here in Jax and Cigar City in Tampa the are some good up and coming breweries you Florida drinkers out there give them a try, pricey though. I also like a good Whiskey and Whisky, Evan Williams Bourbon, Bushmills for my Irish and Laphroaig for my hunk of peat islay scotch. Quote

Bass Dude Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 This is one of the best threads I've seen on here My favorite is Sam Adams Octoberfest. My usual brand was Labatt Blue, 'til I moved south, where it's $8 a six pack!! Now I settle for Miller Lite. Quote
