topwaterbob Posted December 7, 2009 Posted December 7, 2009 Anyone use this bait? How do you fish it? Quote
topwaterbob Posted December 7, 2009 Author Posted December 7, 2009 Yes it is. I was fishing a pond that has some lunkers in it and I snagged a large shinner. I looked for something that resembled it and came across these. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted December 7, 2009 Super User Posted December 7, 2009 I troll it for northern pike. Quote
-nick- Posted December 7, 2009 Posted December 7, 2009 I've wanted to try one for bass to see how it'd do just haven't gotten around to it yet. Quote
VABassin'14 Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 I've used one a few times. Cought a huge pike and a largemouth that weighed about 4lbs. When you use this lure, you are going for the homerun. You aren't going to get many strikes. Swims great. Quote
Super User MALTESE FALCON Posted December 8, 2009 Super User Posted December 8, 2009 I only use them for muskie. My smallies aren't interested in them. Falcon Quote
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted December 8, 2009 Super User Posted December 8, 2009 The walleye pattern is one of the coolest baits I've ever seen. The milky eyes really make it pop. Quote
Super User CWB Posted December 10, 2009 Super User Posted December 10, 2009 I troll it for northern pike. Same here. I use it as the "propwash" bait when Musky trolling. Great shallow casting bait for Muskies also. Have caught some bass on them Musky fishing. Quote
Super User Crestliner2008 Posted December 10, 2009 Super User Posted December 10, 2009 An excellent pike & musky bait! And I've had success fishing it for stripers in the spring time, when they come up the river, after ice out. Actually, if you think about it, it's size and super excellent finishes come pretty darn close to our modern day hard Swimbaits. I suspect casting such a huge lure would require a musky or swimbait rod & reel arrangement. I see it's greatest potential when trolling however. Just make sure you use a steel leader! Quote
Uncle Leo Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 I troll it for northern pike. Same here. I use it as the "propwash" bait when Musky trolling. Great shallow casting bait for Muskies also. Have caught some bass on them Musky fishing. Yep good Musky bait! Quote
