basslover12345 Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 Anyone have any tips on setting the hook with it, I had a tournament today and lost 3 on it right by the boat? Quote
Deadeye-1 Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 Same as any other worm. Let the line get tight, reel down and set the hook. Quote
J_Pearson Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 Standard worm set bud. I would say most likely they shook off because of how they were played at the boat. There's a lot that can go wrong, especially when a tournament is on the line. Good luck. JP Quote
Jake P Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 You're hook Set is not the problem if you're getting the fish to the boat. If you're losing fish that way more than likely its how you're playing the fish. Always keep a tight tension on the line and leave about 6 ft or so and when you lean down to grab her keep the rod away from you keeping tension on the line. If there is slack and she wiggles or jumps there is a chance you will lose her. Quote
Aluma-Bass Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 Net? are they allowed in yall's tourneys or you have to lip them? I know nets have saved me a bunch of fish. Ive had several fish come on hooked as soon as i landed them with the net. Ive lost some nice ones too at the boat bf i had a net. Quote
