Bomber Long A question

Will the Bomber suspending Long A do anything that the Rapala X-Rap won't handle??  Just wondered if it's worth owning both or not.  I've never used a Long A before.

i've got a long A in rainbow trout that i have caught quite a few fish on by using a slow retrieve , oh , and mine is not suspending . i use it about every other time i fish , a good producer in shallower waters . a tackle box staple in my opinion ......... ;)http://www.lurenet.com/productdetail.aspx?id=B14AXRT

So far I've been stocking up on the X-Raps, got a trout colored one too.  Just wondered if buying the Long A would be a basic repeat of the X-Rap or if it swims any differently.  I typically fish these baits with a jerking motion only.  Never a steady retrieve.  If the Long A is going to do the same thing as the X-Rap does then I don't need to get it also, I can just stick with the X-Rap only.

My fishing buddy and I have caught several bass out of Yatesville this March using this bait. You may be able to find it at Wal-Mart. That's where I got mine.

I would say it is worth trying.

Man, you're making me want to go fishing BAD seeing fish of good quality along with a picture of the main ramp. I can look at pics of strange lakes all day long and it doesn't bother me but when I see one of my home waters it just flips a switch.

I'll take a look at Walmart for those.  Thanks.  It might wiggle or wobble a little different from the X-Rap so it won't hurt to own one or two. 

Do you know where Border's Sporting Goods is??  I'm sure I can get them there too, they have just about everything.

Well I can't talk about the suspending version, but can about the floating Long A. It has a wide rolling action -very different from say the original floating Rap. The X-Rap is closer but I think less wide.

There seem to be 2 basic actions that are talked about with jerks: the faster ripping (for warmer water) exemplified by the X-Rap, and and the rolling twitch used in colder water, exemplified by the Rogue.

My guess is the Long A could provide a good rolling twitch. It's a stable running plug though -don't know how well it would scoot to one side like an X-Rap does when given a loose leash. That's the X-Rap's key feature, as well as being about the most weedless minnow plug I've seen.

Again, I haven't tried the suspender so... try it and let us know.

I love long A's the one I have and have caught plenty off of is the pro model. It's the shorter version, only 2 trebles. And it has a very slow sink action. I fish it just like the X rap. They have never outfished an x rap though. But they are definatley worth a purchase.

Borders is a really nice store and has a ton of stuff so hopefully they have that bait.  Gives you a reason to go check it out, anyhow.

I haven't been to Yatesville in a while.  We may not get to start fishing it again until next year.

If you have a hard time finding one, I will check my Wal-Mart here and see if they have anything.
