Super User Long Mike Posted May 5, 2012 Super User Posted May 5, 2012 I would like to share an experience with you, about drinking and driving. As you well know, some of us have been known to have had brushes with the authorities on our way home from various social sessions over the years. A couple of nights ago, I was out for a few drinks with some friends at a local upscale Hotel and had a few too many beers and some rather nice red wine. Knowing full well I may have been slightly over the limit, I did something I've never done before: I took a bus home. Sure enough, I passed a police road block but as it was a bus, they waved it past. I arrived home safely without incident, which was a real surprise; as I have never driven a bus before and am not sure where I got it. 3 Quote
Super User 00 mod Posted May 5, 2012 Super User Posted May 5, 2012 Going to the police auction tonight to solidify the purchase of the impounded Mata buses. Thanks for the idea and the laugh. Jeff Quote

scrutch Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 Mike, did you check to see if the batteries were filled and charged before taking that bus? (only Roadtrip attendees will get this one). Quote
Super User 00 mod Posted May 9, 2012 Super User Posted May 9, 2012 No he didn't, and He is gonna wait and see if they will charge before finding out otherwise and THEN go buy new ones! Jeff Quote
Super User Long Mike Posted May 10, 2012 Author Super User Posted May 10, 2012 Do buses have batteries? BS aside, I learned a hard and expensive lesson at G'ville. Never again will I allow that to happen. Quote
Super User Sam Posted May 10, 2012 Super User Posted May 10, 2012 Mike, that's a good one. I will have to remember that one. Thanks for sharing. Quote
Super User Hi Salenity Posted May 15, 2012 Super User Posted May 15, 2012 I have actually ridden in a stolen buss. We went canoing once and wen you get off the river the buss takes you back to your campsite. So we get off river at the designated spot and load up on the buss. Only one problem there is no driver? So someone in another group decides and I quote "f-this if we wait any longer I'll run out of beer" . So he gets another beer from his cooler and walks up to the front sets down shuts the door and drives us back to the campground... Quote
