Koop Posted October 3, 2009 Posted October 3, 2009 These baits look like they can definately hook up with some anglers... how do they do hooking up with the bass? Anyone use these that can give a review? Quote
ALbasser Posted October 3, 2009 Posted October 3, 2009 At $11 dollars a pop I have not used them extensively, but I used one of a buddies on a fishing trip. I have had these produce when nothing else would. I don't know that it was all because of the crankbait, but bass did not care for any other crank in my arnsenal. The one day I used it I never had a foul. They have a different rattle sound. If you shake one it has a dull kind of thud inside. The one I used had the computer chip lip, which looks cool but I don't know that it really makes a difference. Thats what I can tell you from when I used one, hope it helps. Quote
luz2blaze Posted October 3, 2009 Posted October 3, 2009 Great crank for laydowns. Has a nice wobble too. This has been my go to crank all year. Cell Mate is the color I have. Quote
Simp Posted October 3, 2009 Posted October 3, 2009 I like it but don't love it. I've done decent with it smacking it against rocks but I have bent the hooks on some good fish. I was able to land the fish but I guess for a 11$ crankbait I want the hooks to be stronger. I can't say they are any better then a 1s or 4s strike king cranks or some of the square billed DTFS Rapals and those are all cheaper. With all that said there another crank to put in your box to try and match the right lure for the situation. Quote
aarogb Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 They are very high quality baits, but they are a tad small for my liking. Quote
senko_77 Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 The Little John is a great crank. I don't really throw the medium diver so I can't give you an honest opinion on it, but the shallow diver is dynamite. It comes the the garbage great and you can cast them a freakin mile. They will run true out of the box and they have the sticky sharp Gamakatsu hooks. My only deal with them is that the hooks will get tangled together more often than on an ordinary crankbait. Quote
Super User Tin Posted October 4, 2009 Super User Posted October 4, 2009 Shallow diver = is the shizzz... Quote
angler1 Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 The little john is in my tourney tackle. I like citrus shad. Quote
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted November 29, 2009 Super User Posted November 29, 2009 Is anyone else drooling at the new Watermelon Red Craw pattern? Picked one up this weekend at TW. Sunny Bream is definitely next. Quote
Infidel. Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 I've been loving them since they first came out, and now that they have that chrome olive color... I just love it even more. It may be a little small but the big bass don't mind that at all. Quote
angler1 Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 The shallow model is in my tourney tackle. Like the citrus shad, it my go to cb. Quote
BassResource.com Advertiser FD. Posted December 6, 2009 BassResource.com Advertiser Posted December 6, 2009 So after reading this post, I ordered a few of the medium divers in nasty shad. They came in on Wed and I got to throw them today. WOW! Cold front blowing through, 20+ mph winds, and you can still throw them into the wind. Boated 10 fish up to 3 lbs and lost none. Most of the fish had both trebles and several were nearly gut hooked. They were inhaling this bait. I now have a new favorite crankbait. Quote

-nick- Posted December 7, 2009 Posted December 7, 2009 I'm going to have to start throwing mine more now after reading all this. Probably pick up a couple colors and a couple MDs now too. Quote
