dday07 Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 i'm finally going to try dropshotting and would like some advice on what people on this site recommend to use? thanks Quote
HuntFishAK Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 The only success I've had dropshotting was using a 4" Jerry's Best ringworm. But that's the only time I've seriously fished that way. Quote
Lucky Craft Man Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 I've had a lot of success drop shotting a 4" senko. That might be a good lure to start with. Quote
I.rar Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 zoom super fluke jr's and their 4" lizards. Quote
NBR Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 Almost any soft plasatic with my favorites being french fries, Senkos and bait fish look a likes. Quote

aarogb Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 Reaction Innovations 4.5" Flirt worm, Berkley Hand-Poured Curly Tail worm, Yamamoto 4" Kut Tail worm, and Zoom Finesse and Trick worms. Quote
b.Lee Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 I think anything works, just put your favorite bait on and try it out. You can eve use jig skirts. Quote
fmoore Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 My favorite bait on the drop shot is the 5" Mann's Hard Nose Finesse Worm in green gourd color. This bait has accounted for many many smallmouth for me since I started using it in September. One worm will usually survive 10-15 fish! I've only gone through 1 pack (15 worms) in almost 3 months. EastTexasBassin Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 Almost anything will work, but my favorites are the roboworm and the regetail baby craw Quote
Super User Hammer 4 Posted November 26, 2009 Super User Posted November 26, 2009 X 2..use a misqito hook... I like Robo worms, killer action when nose hooked. Quote
Chris Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 I like to use handpoured soft plastics for dropshotting because of it's softness and most of them float. I also like other salt lures for drop shotting like a cut tail, small trick worm, meathead, and a slider worms. It just depends on what I am trying to do for the situation. Quote
wickyman Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 I like to use Robo worms, in the 4.5" length, in either shad, or margarita mutilator. Just make sure you cast it around structure, and jiggle the line, don't just reel it in. And sometimes reeling it in slowly is a good way to entice the fish to strike, and covers more water. Quote

bowtech_182 Posted November 28, 2009 Posted November 28, 2009 I like Roboworms in "Aaron's magic" and BPS drop shot worms in watermelon. Quote
Five-Alive Posted November 28, 2009 Posted November 28, 2009 I really like the roboworms too, caught 200 or more on them dropshotting this year. Quote
macbass1 Posted November 28, 2009 Posted November 28, 2009 there are 2 things that i use for drop shoting most the time...#1 iuse a 4" widowmaker tube and I also use a hand poured gossimer minnow by hawg pours..... Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted November 30, 2009 Super User Posted November 30, 2009 Any soft plastic will work, use YOUR favorite. I have had good luck recently with the GYCB 6 1/2" Kut Tail. 8-) Quote
SWMIBASSER Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 Poor Boy's Goby, Erie Darter, DS Darter. Slim senko's, and a secret lure of mine, that hasn't been used by many for YEARS. Quote
Super User Munkin Posted December 6, 2009 Super User Posted December 6, 2009 Any soft plastic will work but I like 3-4.5" no salt baits because they float. The 2 main baits I use are a 3" Berkley DS worm (discontinued) in smoke or a 3" DS minnow that I hand pour myself similar to the Hawg Shad. I use to use the Hawg Shads and still have some but they are expensive so I make my own. Allen Quote
