flippin Dan Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 Any of you guys use flukes for trailers on swim jigs??? I plan to give it a try just wondering if anyone does any good like this. On my local lake a white fluke does good at times so I am thinking a shad colored jig and a white fluke trailer may be just the ticket. Quote
Super User eyedabassman Posted May 3, 2012 Super User Posted May 3, 2012 I HAVE USED FLUKES AND PADDLE TAILS ON JIGS IN THE FALL WHEN THEY ARE FEEDING HEAVY ON SHAD. BUT NOW UNTILL FALL I FISH CRAW AND WORM, BRUSH HOGS AS A TRAILER. Quote
Skeet22 Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 Swimming fluke yes. A standard fluke would be pretty useless on a swim jig. Quote

Super User clayton86 Posted May 3, 2012 Super User Posted May 3, 2012 Iv mentioned it before on here and recently at that but what I do alot on my swim jigs and flukes is tie a 12"-24" leader or shorter really I find 18" the best to the bend of the hook with knot of your choice line I use braid but then at the end of that you do your texposed fluke. I have gotten strikes on both some times they hit the jig first some times all they hit is the fluke on the end. Also I use a twin tail on the jig itself along with that I mentioned above. Quote

Super User Crestliner2008 Posted May 3, 2012 Super User Posted May 3, 2012 A 5" fluke on the back of a Chatterbait is very productive. Quote
