prjavelin Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 I have this couple old cranks. 3 are bomber model a if im not mistaken. I left these at my old box but lately ive been thinking that I can put them to use. the deep diver I can use to explore the depths. the two that are deep divers I want to fix them up, maybe keep the baby bass color as it is. The other I dont know what I can do to make them better. I want to mod that one and maybe make it a one of a kind something totally out of the ordinary. the one with the heart looking tip i dont have a single idea about it. What do you guys say? are there any guides out there to mod these? the sound they make is awful as they are right now. Quote
jbass Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 Do they have rattles? Why not just repaint them? Lure manufacturers go through a lot of R&D to get a bait to do what they want, dive like they want and sound like they want. As far as "mods" as you call it, I'd keep them as they are and just paint them the way you want, but if you don't care much about them then you could shave the diving bills and see what happens. You may tighten up the wobble on some and not on the others. Just my .02. Quote
Super User tomustang Posted May 2, 2012 Super User Posted May 2, 2012 What sound are they actually making? The shad and baby bass 4A's (3-5') look fine, both colors produce for me throwing them before the weedbeds near shore The 'heart shape' one looks like a 2-4' diver, I forget the name of it right now though Quote
Super User bigbill Posted May 3, 2012 Super User Posted May 3, 2012 The bomber cranks are some of my favorites. I'd clean them up and maybe change the hooks if there rusted or if you want to have them repainted. I just sent 22 lures to Terry Clark to be repainted in all the favorite bass colors. BTW; Bomber is discontinuing some of there cranks like the square nose and the fat a's. I been stocking up on all the model a's too. Quote
