The reason you struckout there is the shock boats are working that canal hard for some time now. Business has been great and the fishing has been incredible.Things should slack off soon and I can start fishing again. Quote

osbornj2 Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 I'll echo what everyone is saying: Nice fish, regardless of weight! What you remember about them is the fight, how tired your arms were, how it was bigger than your buddies', etc! Quote

Ortiz396 Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 Hey bass hunter954 yur bass was a nice one, my bass that I had to put on two scales gave me my numbers and I won 200 bucks off the l s I guess it was gonna be against me bud and his friend so they went out to get his scale that's stopped at 8.5 lbs and my bass hit the bottom of his scale and had more to go and my bass was old and u couldnt see his spots or colors that well and we had to pull out another scale and I got my lbs after leading out the scale 5 times and my bass was 27 1/2 inches long so that's my story but cat hint a bass on a top water frog is the best and u knw it's a lunker when they just want to go deep. Great ctach angel. Yes everyone the bass on the white scale is the one I caught out of a pond no bigger then a Lil kids scooter field . I will post more pics after I learn how to. WookieeJedi Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 The actual weight only matters if you are in a contest, or if it is a PB for you. Otherwise just make a guess. I got my PB smallmouth recently, and didn't have a scale with me. I may have guessed him a little light, just to be safe. But if I guessed light, it makes the mark easier to beat. Nice bass, BTW! I agree, since I don't compete weights and personal bests aren't real important to me. I will admit I do get curious if it's a very large fish, but not enough to carry a scale. A tape measure is the determining factor in whether a fish is legal or not. Quote
