Basshunter.....nice fish and congrats. Frog fishing, as well as top water fishing is great fun. My favorite! I would suggest getting a scale even a cheapo. I would put your fish somewhere near the 4.5-5lb range. I don't want to be the one to burst you bubble and please don't take this as being mean. I think a scale will help you with reference to your fish weights from now on! Still great fish, and congrats!

BassHunter, it's a nice fish what ever it weighs. As long as you had a good time catching it the actual size isn't important. As close as I get is a length measurement based on a mark on my rods, a scale weight or picture only happens if someone is walking by.

Hell I would given you one..lol. Got a couple as gifts, been sitting under some rubble in the trunk of my car, never been used, don't even know what brand they are.......haha.

Walmart is carrying a decent line of Mustad equipment, I really like their curved pliers, makes hook removal on a larger fish much easier, I've got one I use offshore.

Pictures are sometimes tough to judge weights with. I can tell you bass down here begin to get there distinctive hardened jaw line at around 4lbs. I would guess the weight of your fish to be around 3.5 to 4 pounds based on the look of her jaw. Comparing to the fish from northern states won't help much as their fish are much fatter. It's a great fish regardless!

YEa, 24.5 inch fish healthy is around 5 pounds. Im terrible with guessing weight which is why i bought a scale.

Now, i wouldn't put that thing in the 3-4 pound class. I would settle between 5-6 pounds give or take. But it seems you have a great attitude with the realization of needing a scale. Keep em coming. Look at RW's for reference of a 7 pounder. Keep em coming
