Super User Hi Salenity Posted April 25, 2012 Super User Posted April 25, 2012 Soft plastic's or lipless cranks depending on the rod. Quote
jkarol24 Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 You can fish most of the lures in your tacklebox on a medium action baitcast rod. The only things i WOULD'NT throw on it are: Small/light plastics Techniques using small hooks (drop shot comes to mind) Heavy cover flipping Quote
Bass_Fanatic Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 Jerkbaits, wacky worms, top water plugs just to name a few Quote
flippin and pitchin Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 Jerkbaits, small topwaters and small squarebills. Quote

Super User BASSclary Posted April 25, 2012 Super User Posted April 25, 2012 all my plastics under 1/2 ounce total. I like the way a M fishes vs a MH Quote
Super User ww2farmer Posted April 25, 2012 Super User Posted April 25, 2012 Hard Jerkbaits, 1/2 oz lipless cranks, small to med. size square bills, like bandit 100's or SK KVD 1.5's, 3/16-1/4 spinnerbaits, top water, Small-mid size medium cranks, like bandit 200/300's,SK series 3's/3xd's, Spron Little John MD's etc...., soft jerkbaits, senkos, finesse jigs, t-rigging, drop shotting, C-rigging............and probably more, about the only I don't ue them for is Deep diving cranks, flipping, frogs, and big jigs/T-rigs/c-rigs around heavy cover. Quote
tholmes Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 Shallow to medium diving cranks, lipless cranks, jerkbaits, unweighted (or lightly weighted) plastics, and smaller topwaters. Tom Quote
SausageFingers Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 Primarily smaller swim jigs, crank baits, and wake baits for me Quote
BigGame0892 Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 Hard jerkbaits, small spinnerbaits, flukes, small topwaters and squarebills for the most part. As others have said, it can do a lot. Quote
Super User LgMouthGambler Posted April 25, 2012 Super User Posted April 25, 2012 Mine has my 50E on it with 12# Yozuri. Pretty much my light rigged plastics, or whatever I decide to tie to it. Just nothing for real heavy cover. Quote
piscicidal Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 pointers, poppers, flukes, senkos, shakey head, small traps, sq bills. 1 Quote
bigbassctchr101 Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 I have all my mediums stacked up in a corner. I thought I would like them, but ended up hating them for almost everything I used them for. If I throw anything with treble hooks I either use a MH with a slower tip (spooks, poppers, some lipless lures, and hard jerk baits, etc...) or a MH with a moderate blank. (shallow/mid cranks, most lipless baits). It is kinda neat to hear what everyone uses for certain applications though. For example, I throw flukes, senkos, trick worms all on a 7' MH-H rod with 15-20lb line. When downsizing my lures, I downsize rod length, line, and lure weight/profile, but I stick with the same action. Quote
kLuo Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 My medium fast casting rod has a 51e on it and is a dedicated shakey head and finesse jig rod. It is my favorite setup to throw. Quote
Diggy Posted August 29, 2012 Author Posted August 29, 2012 Which rod would you recc.that is a true medium power (100 and under). My vendetta feels more mh and I have a mh carbonlite already. Id like a different model rod for variety. Quote
TNBassin' Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 pointers, poppers, flukes, senkos, shakey head, small traps, sq bills. This, although my medium vendetta is much stiffer than a normal medium. I can use that sucker for crank baits pretty effectively. Quote

Fenwick Elite Tech Smallmouth 6'10" M-F is $102.07 on Amazon right now, but I got mine for $81 from the same place...a $129 rod. Quote
Michael DiNardo Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 Just about everything under 3/4 oz. Mike Quote

The only things i WOULD'NT throw on it are: Small/light plastics Techniques using small hooks (drop shot comes to mind) Heavy cover flipping Im just curious why?Same as my MH, just my smaller lures.I dont flip or fish heavy cover with it though. Spinnerbaits 1/4 & 3/8 oz. 1/4 & 3/8 swim jigs. light t rigged plastics. I dont throw any trebles over 1/2 oz so all of my cranks lipless or billed get tossed on my M as well. I actually like the feel of my M rod over all others BUT nothing beats flipping a 1/2 NSCB Jig n Rage plastic with my MH! Quote

I just recently broke the tip off of mine (My fault, not the rods). I will definitely replace when i have the cash. Good luck! Quote
