endless Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 I know my wife is only 14 weeks but we did just found out it's a boy and I always liked the Seven or Justice just not sure of many boys a Justice and am torn between if it's more girlish than boyish like. But me and the wife had settle with Justice Paul. Would like to know how do you see the name Justice as a boy or girl? I know it can go both ways but still wondering? Paul is after my wife's father! Super User whitwolf Posted April 24, 2012 Super User Posted April 24, 2012 I don't see the name Justice as a girls name at all. It's unique and both you and the wife like it so go with it. Quote
Super User slonezp Posted April 24, 2012 Super User Posted April 24, 2012 To me, Justice sounds like a strippers name. Maybe I'm just old. I like traditional names. Think about when the child gets old. "Grandpa Justice" doesn't sound right. In my family tradition is the first boy is named after his paternal grandfather. I broke that and named my boy after his paternal great grandfather. 1 Quote

ROCbass Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 I've only ever heard it as a girl's name, but if you and your wife like it, go for it. Since you're going with a more conservative middle name, worst case scenario if you (or he) end up not liking it, he can be one of those people who goes by his middle name and signs official documents with his first initial. J. Paul Endless has a nice ring to it. Quote

Super User Bassn Blvd Posted April 24, 2012 Super User Posted April 24, 2012 I never heard the name Justice as a first name, only last. I think the name sounds cool for a boy though. Only problem is, what if he don't live up to his name? Quote
Super User Hi Salenity Posted April 24, 2012 Super User Posted April 24, 2012 If you like it go for it! if I had another kid I'd name it Island (boy) or AVA (girl). My 2 boys are named Indy & Gunner. Quote
Super User Marty Posted April 24, 2012 Super User Posted April 24, 2012 I'm another one who believes in conventional names. Maybe it's harmless, but in years to come people will joke and call him Poetic Justice or Justice Denied or some such thing. But a lot of people like to be more creative, which is OK, but that's my old-fashioned opinion. 1 Quote
Super User Lund Explorer Posted April 25, 2012 Super User Posted April 25, 2012 Sorry, one more gruff old codger who can only see a long life full of jokes and puns tied to a name like that. Quote
Super User Raider Nation Fisher Posted April 25, 2012 Super User Posted April 25, 2012 If that's your bag then go for it. Me I prefer something more traditional like Malachi or Ramses. But hey to each his own. Quote

Haha, those aren't what I would call traditional names. Honestly, if you want to name your kid that, go for it. I think it's a pretty cool name, but others may not. Quote

Super User Raider Nation Fisher Posted April 25, 2012 Super User Posted April 25, 2012 If we have another boy Im pushing to name him after my great great grandad on my fathers side. His first name was Servantus. I think it has a nice ring to it. Sounds very distinguished if I do say so my self. Quote
Super User slonezp Posted April 25, 2012 Super User Posted April 25, 2012 If he had used a Ramses we wouldn't be having this conversation. Quote
Jake P Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 I only know of girls with that name. If it makes yall happy though then go ahead. I am, like many others, a fan of more traditional names. ALTHOUGH, my wife and i could not agree on ANYTHING because she is the most hard headed stubborn woman on earth. She named our some Rylan and I named our daughter Addison. The name is growing on me though. I try and picture the name in a business setting. Plus you can do alot of play on words with the name Justice and im sure it wouldnt help him as he goes through school. On a side note, i used to work with a woman who named her son "Paint". Yeah, im serious.....Paint. Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted April 25, 2012 BassResource.com Administrator Posted April 25, 2012 How 'bout "Spappy"?! Seriously, who could get mad a kid named Spappy? Could you imagine yelling his name in a stern voice in a mall? "Spappy! Come here now!" LOL! 1 Quote
Super User Bassn Blvd Posted April 25, 2012 Super User Posted April 25, 2012 How about Shaniqua, Quote
Super User clayton86 Posted April 25, 2012 Super User Posted April 25, 2012 Its different I like the traditional names my wife likes the unique names we had a hard time coming up with a name for our 2nd son mostly because nothing goes with my last name(George) my kids are cursed with the 3 first names just like me lol. we caught hell from everyone when we ran names past em we didn't name jack till 5 minutes before we left to bring him home and we got home and everyone was ticked we went with jack and this is what we told everyone that didn't like....."He aint your kid so STFU we like it and WE are the ones that matter"... so I say if YOU and YOUR WIFE like it then go for it who cares what others think. At the same time you have what 26 more weeks to go that's a long ass time im sure more names will pop up if your not dead set on Justice. 1 Quote

endless Posted April 25, 2012 Author Posted April 25, 2012 We're even thinking about Justus Paul. Which Justus would mean Latin for Righteous, just, fair Practically the same meaning as Justice from what we have found. Quote
Sfritr Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 I like Justice, but I would have to make his middle name either "served" or "ofthepiece" 1 Quote
silvercliff_46 Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 Justice.., Why not Colt, that's both Justice AND Peace Maker.., of coarse I've got a Glock (10 shot .45), but that might be a tough fit with your last name. How about Browning or 1911. 1 Quote
