wiabomb Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 My name is Jay and I am not only new to the site but new to the sport. I have gone fishing many, many times in the past but I have never been a fisherman, at least one who could provide a meal for anyone. I have been a pretty successful trout fisherman in the past but dropping a salman egg in the current and realing it back is pretty easy and I have a pretty awesome secret spot that can land 2-3 lbers on a regular basis. I live in Bowling Green, KY and plan on fishing for bass. There is a lake near-by, Barren River Lake that produces some serious hybrids. Dale Hollow and Lake Cumberland to the East house some really good smallmouth while Lake Barkley and KY lake are to the West and they too have some outstanding smallmouth. I will be happy just learning how to really be a successful fisherman. I have...my father has a 16' Tracker that is more of a duck hunting boat with the camo and storage but will serve well when I need it. I plan on doing most of my fishing from a kayak. I usually get skunked when I go bass fishing. I have a relly good friend who has turned very sucessful fishing as a rider on the circuit. He was taught from a guy who runs the circuit pretty regularly so I have someone I can go for questions and help but mainly I am going to learn this through trial and error on my own. Through my many attempts before I have a nice little tacklebox and a couple nice rod n reels so I have a small advantage then most beginners but I need to learn how and when and where to ise them. I have been reading a lot of the articles on here and am sponging all the information I can. That is me in a nutshell. I am the FNG but plan on putting in the effort and changing my tag to a sucessful fisherman. Quote
