esoxangler Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 Can anyone recommend some good "how to" video's on demonstrating how to pitch/flip. Thanks, Esox Quote
Caver Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 Just you tube it. That helped me. Plus it's good to see a few different people doing it. I'm pretty sure Bassresource has a really good video of it. Quote
Diablos Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 It took me a couple of years to learn how to pitch with confidence. I can now pitch with both left and right hands with tension turned completely off. I can only flip with my right hand though. Practice, practice I find myself pitching almost all the time I make any cast less than 10 yards now. Quote
Super User Catt Posted April 21, 2012 Super User Posted April 21, 2012 Youtube search Denny Brauer & Gary Klien Quote
Super User slonezp Posted April 21, 2012 Super User Posted April 21, 2012 The denny brauer vids also used to be on bassmaster.com Quote
Super User K_Mac Posted April 21, 2012 Super User Posted April 21, 2012 My neighbors all think I'm a little nuts for "fishing" in my yard all the time. I am improving my pitching skills though. I fish with a guy who is a master, and I have to get better to keep from embarrassing myself, and hit the an occasional prime spot. Watching someone who is really good has made a huge difference. I thought I knew what I was doing until I started fishing with him. Nope. Don't make it too easy when you practice...pitch under a bush, your truck, boat trailer, swing set, lawn chair-you never know where that big one will be hiding. Quote
tmier Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 Does anyone set their reel guide at the center of the spool before the pitch? I wanted to try this when I get my reel back from repair. Quote
justin apfel Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 After watching as many videos as you can, definitely go out in your front/back yard and set up targets at different distances, I used my dogs bowls as targets and it was really pleasing to hear the loud "ding" everytime I got it. This will improve accuracy which is what pictching is all about. As for flipping, just do the same thing at shorter differences since flipping is for when you are pretty close to cover you want to hit hard. Quote
