midnighthrasher Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 I love rage tail baits and i love fishing tubes. The only thing i wish is that they would come up with a "Rage tail tube" of some kind. Right now im using alot of *** and strike king coffee tubes. BIG-O if your listening help me out and hook me up with some rage tail tubes... Quote
The_Natural Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 Buy some ISG tubes and their won't be anything left to desire. All the tenticles on the ISG baits are evenly cut and aren't sticking together. They are also 'true' 4" tubes (2" body and 2" skirt). I use their original tube, the Willy's Intimidator which they've had for years. It is greatness.... http://www.isgfishing.com/acatalog/intimidatortubes.htm Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted November 3, 2009 Super User Posted November 3, 2009 For the most part, Big O has introduced unique baits in the Rage Tail collection. It wouldn't seem to me the a Rage Tail tube would fit that concept. I'm not necessarily saying "a tube's a tube", but all brands are very similar. 8-) Quote
BriBass Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 think if he made em with a tiny little "rage claw" (or w/e you call the actual rage part of the bait) at the end of each tentacle*.... wowwww would those skirts have insane action.... like 30 different strands just rippling on the fall ... likely to to happen no... but interesting and imaginative o yeaaa *this idea has been patented by bribass ;D Quote

Years ago I started using ISG's tiny plastics for vertical jigging through the ice for panfish. Long story short, I had to check out their bass and walleye products. I use the Intimidator Tubes early in the season, and and by summer I switch over to the Dream Tubes. They're hand-dipped four times and have two series of patterns: The Great Lakes series; and a Flippin' series. Quote

I just thought that if Big O can come out with amazing baits like he has that he could surely take a tube and make something crazy out of it. Imagine a tube with little Rage tenticles.... just a thought Quote
Super User Dan: Posted November 6, 2009 Super User Posted November 6, 2009 I imagine putting the little lips on the ends of all the tentacles would be awfully difficult. Quote
BriBass Posted November 6, 2009 Posted November 6, 2009 I imagine putting the little lips on the ends of all the tentacles would be awfully difficult. yea i totally agree but we were sayin, if only it were possible just imagine the action Quote

I use ALOT of tubes and when i throw them in 8ft of water the action they would have spinning all the way down would be crazy Quote
Big-O Posted November 6, 2009 Posted November 6, 2009 I have thoughts on many things and tube designs are part of that equation. Like RW said, the basic tubes in their variety of sizes and colors are proven fish catchers and available from most soft plastic providers. Improving a basic design to appeal to all anglers is a challenge but fun to consider Big O www.ragetail.com Quote
dinkman Posted November 6, 2009 Posted November 6, 2009 the only thing i could think to do is take a basic lake fork craw tube but instead of the claws on the sides replace those with rage claws. you'd probably have to make the tubes overall a little bigger just because of the sheer mass of the tubes, say 4-5 inches, but in theory if you're throwing a big rage tube like that then you're probably already targeting larger fish anyway. Beautiful idea! Just like the craw tube, man i could ONLY imagine if those claws were Rage Tail Claws WOOOWWW.... the action would be insane bc that was my only complaint with em in the first place, no action i think were onto something Big-O Quote
Super User BrianinMD Posted November 6, 2009 Super User Posted November 6, 2009 Not being to up on how these baits are poured in bulk. I wonder if it would be possible to design something were the tentacles are not smooth but have some time of ribbed design to affect the water flow across them? Or pock marked? Quote
dinkman Posted November 6, 2009 Posted November 6, 2009 the way that i understand tubes to be poured (not sure so don't quote me) is that the tube is poured as a hollow body single piece and then the skirts cut after the tubes are done. if you could come up with a way to pour that bait and at the open end have it curl back toward the head on the outside, you might have tiny ribbontail tentacles providing movement on the fall as well. not sure if it's possible to pour them like that but just a thought, i don't pour my own so i'm just spitballing ideas. Super User grimlin Posted November 6, 2009 Super User Posted November 6, 2009 Injections tube molds have been hitting the market lately(popular item).Much easier than trying to Dip tubes(they are never poured),then having to cut.Maybe ask the mold maker if he could make that mold. Many of them are up for new ideas as well.Really can't hurt to ask.It may cost you big getting a new design pushed through. I'm trying to pick one up next year to start making my own tube baits.I want to get back into that again. Quote
