Clackers On Buzzbaits

I have multiple buzzbaits and some have clackers. I have not really noticed any difference in the catch ratio of buzzbaits w /a clacker vs those without. However, most of the bodies of water that I fish are private and get little pressure so I dont know if that has anything to do with the fish being less selective and more aggressive.

I know there is another topic on buzzbaits that has some great information within it, but I didnt want to steal thunder from that thread over a simple question like this:

For those that use clackers and non-clacker buzzbaits, do you ever notice times when the bass will hit one or the other? Did water clarity play the more important role in that situation? If no, what do you feel was the determining factor in the bass preferring one over the other?

_{I'm a buzzbait nut. It's one of my favorite techniques for brown and green fish. I've spent an untold amount of time throwing them in the past 10 years. My opinion? The only things that make a noticeable, consistent diffrence are speed, size, color, and the way it sits in the water. With color being the least important factor of the four. Before someone says, "ya can't beat a black buzzbait", I've seen Smallmouth go nuts over buzzers without a skirt. River smallies are awesome creatures lol.}

_{There are a ton of buzzers with clackers, colorado blades, holes in the wings, special sideways heads, etc. In my experience, they all put the same amount of fish in the boat. Buzzbait fishing is about location and angles. I know some people go nuts over a bait "squeeking" and what not. I've done all the mods and tried alot of brands, and there isnt much of a gap among the quality brands.}

I went with the Cavitrons as they have performed better than other buzzbaits with our without clackers.

I throw buzzbaits mostly at night, some nights they want squeakers, some nights they want clackers, some nights the want counter rotating, some nights they want a gold blade, some night the want a silver blade.

Only the bass know which the want when, my job is to give them what they want

Not sure i have much to add to the good advice given. I am a die hard old-school Norman tri blade buzzbait and have used the clackers the last 3 years and have loved them. What i do notice is speed. I can reel the Normans in much slower. The clackers have to be reeled in faster. Interestingly, i have a better hook up ratio with the faster reeled clacking buzzbaits. But concerning catch rate, they both seem to work equally for me. Those clackers really make some noise though. Plus to reiterate, i mostly throw black and occasionally will whip out the white.
