We recently took my wifes car in to the Nissan Dealership to have some work done on it. We were doing our "good boy" check of the fluids tonight and noticed this tool was left under the hood.

They look like some type of pliers, more of a specialty tool but I am not sure what they are intended for.

They are 7.5" in length

Can anyone tell what they are for, looking at the pix?

Split ring pliers.....for the split rings without the holes! or they could be spring tension pliers, but both would work in reverse!

Either way, I would be calling the dealer and raising holy heck. If those had fallen into the fan or the belts you could have had a serious issue or worse. Lack of attention to detail is no excuse at the dealership. Someone should pay.

I'd stop by the dealership, but not just to complain about their mechanic's lack of attention, but to return the tool. Mechanics generally pay for their tools out of pocket, and I'm sure he'd like to have his pliers back.

Their push pin removal pliers. Their used for removing panels or body parts. From the looks of them their cheap taiwan made with rust eating them, wouldn't doubt the owner bought another one already

Apparently his mechanic keeps losing all his tools and needs a goat to chew off the parts
