Depending exactly where you are in Illinois i know clubs are gearing up for their summer tournaments right now. The main one that comes to mind is the Happy Hookers Bass Club that has several big tournaments through the year all over the state and during the summer they run a wednesday night weekly tournament out of the conservation area on the Kankakee river. Those were alot of fun back when I was fishing a few here and there.

Basscatcher is right. I am actually a possible new member of the Happy Hookers and I am also the new webmaster for the, so check out the site that basscatcher gave you. Also there is a tournament next week at Lake Shelbyville, but you also have to be a member of the ABA or American Bass Anglers as the club has partnered with them.

I will be fishing with the club in June on the Cal-Sag.

Also depending on where you live in Central Illinois, there is a BASS affiliated club called Central Illinois Bassmasters who are based in Streator. I was with them last year when I began tournament fishing they are a great bunch of guys.

I was going to mention ABA/American Bass Anglers also as the first tourny for the illinois north division is 4/29 at Lake Shelbyville and this will be my first tourny as well. There is also a Central division of the ABA and check out their site and see how close you are to some of the lakes.

Good to see they got some folks on here. I use to have a lot of fun fishing the wednesday night series. I have been out of the loop for awhile and am trying to get back in and fish a few of the wednesday nighters this year. I was going to fish their big open tournament they had at the end of march but my trolling motor burned up the week before and the new one didnt arrive till after that weekend. So i'll probably shoot for the next open tournament.
