SkilletSizeBass. Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 I haven't used the silent lipless lures before and was thinking at picking a couple of them up, any suggestions on ones to try? I seen Megabass has the Vibration-X BAF that floats/suspends, and I think lucky craft has a silent model. Quote
Boogey Man Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 I've read articles about drilling a small hole, then putting super glue into the lure, then using epoxy to seal the hole back up to make a "silent" lipless crank. If memory serves, they held the lure nose down to glue the rattles into the front of the lure. Quote
Primus Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 Try the Sebile Flat Shad, this bait has been a productive part of my lipless crank arsenal. Quote
CRFisher Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 Creme makes a cheap soft plastic one. Sounds surprising but I picked up one for a buck and the action was pretty good. Obviously there's better quality out there but for the price they're cheap enough to throw into some bad situations where you might be not want to risk an expensive crank. Quote
SkilletSizeBass. Posted November 22, 2009 Author Posted November 22, 2009 Try the Sebile Flat Shad, this bait has been a productive part of my lipless crank arsenal. I'll look at that one, I didn't know Sebile made a silent one. I'm looking for a silent model to run over weeds in a small clear water lake. Quote
Super User Micro Posted November 22, 2009 Super User Posted November 22, 2009 Try Yo-Zuri Live Bait Shallow Vibe lipless cranks. These are really good lipless cranks. These are solid plastic with a soft-touch feel to them. (They are not flexible as Yo-Zuri suggests.) They feel a bit heavier than hollow lipless of the same size. They cast a long, long way. They have great actions at any speed retrieve. Even at slow speeds they flutter very nicely. They jig well since then flutter on the rise, and don't plane to one side when they sink. They do not nose-stand on the bottom like the Yo-Zuri Hardcore. They will flop over on their side when they rest on the bottom. These are excellent baits. And they are relatively inexpensive. I recommend them highly. In a clear-water lake, the clear models are absolutely destructive. http://www.yo-zuri.com/Products/ProdLiveBait/LiveBait-ShallowVibe.htm Quote
Randall Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Try the Sebile Flat Shad, this bait has been a productive part of my lipless crank arsenal.X2 I have also glued and removed the lead and steel balls and used other quieter things to add weight. Quote
Super User Crestliner2008 Posted November 23, 2009 Super User Posted November 23, 2009 Here's a thought: how about using a blade bait instead? Plenty of vibrations and no rattles. Been around a lot longer than rattle-trap type lures. Quote
