Could be a couple things. First, Is the condenser coil clean? Coil is at the bottom of the unit. There may or may not be a fan. Unplug the fridge and brush/vacuum it out. Second, sticking defrost clock comes to mind. About a $20 part you can get at any appliance parts supplier. ie Sears. This clock may be located near the condenser or behind a panel on the fridge side. 3rd, If it gets warm again, unplug unit and remove back panel in freezer. This is where the evaporator coil is located. If it's frozen it's a defrost problem which may be the clock or the element(if you're not mechanicaly or electricaly inclined you may want to call a professional). Lastly, If its a fancy unit with digital display and circuitry and the board goes. Probably cheaper to get a new unit. Sounds like the compressor is ok from the discription you gave. Good luck.

Does the light stay on when you close the door?

Believe it our not that is what was happening to my frig and it was a warranty issue, could not figure it out until the plastic shroud around the light was melted.

I had the same problem a couple years back and it was a dirty condenser coil. It took me about 15 minutes to clean it off and no more problems.

LOL..Doug!

The worst dryer problem in my 2 story house is the dryer vent. Whoever designed the house was an idiot. Instead of putting the vent through the wall, it goes up through the roof. I fooled with it for a weekend with one of those brush on a flexible rod deals before calling a professional. He was up in the attic for quite a while before announcing that it was clear. When I had a new roof put on last year, somehow debris was dropped down the vent hole.

I will give you a call next time. ..LOL

Yea, my vent goes to the roof also. My problem is with the vent cover. Gosh dang roofers used a vent that won't allow me to access the hole to suck out anything that gets stuck.

I pull the back cover of the dryer off about once every 2.5-3 months and clean everything inside with the vacuum. LMAO, i was using a shop vac attachment on the vacuum cleaner when the attachment fell off underneath the dryer tub and I cant get that F'r out.
