so iv got a new addiction and i don't know if its a good or bad addiction.

its hitting the gym and more so the supplement i take before going. iv been taking this stuff called Jack3d its the biggest boost iv ever had i feel unstoppable on it. iv been lifting like a mad man every day but not going crazy heavy weights but staying moderate till i get good form and muscle memory to perform work outs correctly.

I'm worried the problem is i cant get enough of this though the rush the satisfaction i get at the gym. its addicting im eating protein shakes after every work out my breakfasts consist of as many hard boiled eggs they will give me and turkey bacon. my lunches are boneless skinless chicken breast grilled with some Texas petes hot sauce and a bowel of carrots and blue cheese and angel food cake with strawberries. dinner is a repeat of lunch. iv dropped to 175lbs a weight i haven't seen sense i got married 4 almost 5 years ago. iv never felt better about my self or my health and life style. my wife however hates it says its not me and im to edgy. granted yeah im on edge but its not from the work out or jack3d there's a lot of other things going on making me edgy.

i don't know but i love my new addiction its better then say smoking or dipping.

The feeling is your body running full throttle all the time. Not good for your heart. Much better to eat sensibly and do your workouts. Yeah the improvements will be slower, but everything worth having in life is work.

It's like a strong coffee.....If you decide to stop using it you will get headaches and dizziness.Just like if you take sugar out of your diet after consuming it for years. It's pretty much a loaded caffeine product. My friend compared it to an energy drink almost.

Somebody I know used it when he was training for the amateur UFC fights.

It's not for people who are diabetic or heart problems.

I hear ya on the "high" part. Your body actually makes endorphines after a work out that make you feel good. Theres nothing better than hitting chest and biceps and walking around with the pump afterwards. I've been eating and lifting like a boss for about 6 weeks now and feel great. Not doing any supplements this time. Shooting for 200grams protein a day and timing the carbs right.

To help with not getting burned out, you may want to take a few "cheat' days here and there. And personally I'd get off the jacked, maybe start loading creatine at the same time so you keep your head in your routine. What are your goals?

Jacked is probably not the best thing to be taking. Swap to a stimulant free Nitric Oxide supplement. It will calm you down, and give you the same post work out rush. Plus your results will be much better. The NO opensdialates your blood vessels, and allows your muscles to consume more oxygen and nutrients. The bonus being there is no crash from taking it.

The U.S. Army is investigating the deaths of two U.S. soldiers possibly linked to the popular pre-workout supplement Jack3d from USPlabs. Toxicology tests performed on the bodies revealed the presence of DMAA (1,3 dimethylamylamine) in their blood, according to an article in Stars and Stripes. DMAA—aka methylhexaneamine (MHA); aka geranium oil/stem/extract—is the infamous, supposedly natural, active ingredient in Jack3d, and has been linked to possible risk of liver damage and heart failure.

The two soldiers were stationed on a base in the southwestern United States. Both died of cardiac arrest—one during a PT run this summer, and the other this fall after collapsing and being hospitalized for a month.

The Army initiated a safety review after compiling records of several other DMAA users reporting health problems such as “kidney and liver failure, seizures, loss of consciousness, heat injury and muscle breakdown during exertion and rapid heartbeat,” Army spokesperson Maria Tolleson told Stars and Stripes.

DMAA recall first of its kind

The string of related incidents prompted the military to pull all DMAA-containing products from the shelves of GNC shops inside all Army and Airforce Exchange Service and Navy Exchange stores worldwide. The recall is the first of its kind in the United States, as the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) still considers DMAA to be a dietary supplement ingredient and a natural component of geranium stems. Economics suggest otherwise, however—industry knowledge has it that the amount of DMAA purportedly produced from geraniums worldwide would increase retail prices as much as twentyfold.

Canada chooses to identify the substance as a drug. In June 2011, Health Canada issued a recall of 1MR, a pre-workout blend from BPI, for containing “DMAA, which is considered a drug substance under FDR [Canadian Food and Drugs Act and Regulations],” according to its recall listings.

The Health Canada decision remains relatively obscure, but this massive recall by the U.S. Military is apt to finally push the geranium debacle into the consumer spotlight. Not only are DMAA products popular among bodybuilders and on military bases, but high school athletes are keen on pre-workout products as well.

my body definitely is not going full throttle all the time this is an easy deployment and i have tons of down time. i start my days off with 30min bikes for cardio and a wake up then i sit around till usually 1430 go to the gym and lift today was a triceps and abs day that takes about an hour hour and a half. then its back to sitting around. when we do get "missions" there short like 4hrs tops and all i do is drive around and look at the scenery. so my muscles and body gets rest thats when muscles grow is when resting. my eating habits are pretty good im dropping fat off my body like its my job.

the high is great i know bout the bod making endorphines its like runners high i just dont get runners high cuz i hate running lol. im most likely stoping the jack3d once its gone i got maybe maybe 2 weeks left.

right now my supplements im taking are

GNC mega mens sport:metabolism and energy

Glucosamine

omega 3

Jack3d

Muscle milk

goals idk yet i wanna get pretty big and cut originally i was just shooting for getting to 180lbs at then end of the deployment i was 207 at the start i hit 180 in weeks im now 175 and dropping i was a size 38 waist and now im back to 32 where i was in school. so now im shooting for dropping the last on my flab which isn't much now a mere pinch i guess lol before i looked 9mo pregnant now im swimming in all my shirts and my uniform falls off soon as i loosen my belt. every ones commenting o how mch weight iv lost and using me as an example of what can be done with dedication cuz guys are struggling loosing weight here.

im basicly just wanting to see what my bodys willing to go to i was 135 in high school and 150 after basic. but i never lifted for mass like im doing now i lift with a guy in my squad who eats sleeps and breaths body building and do his work outs but at a scaled down weight

Many years and many pounds ago, I was a runner (not a good one, but it was the fad at that time). One day I heard a radio interview with these guys that were old time olympians - they were peddling the product made of "natural ingredients, etc." and they were talking about how great it was. I looked everywhere but couldn't find the stuff they were peddling but did manage to find the individual ingredients so I tried to make my own.

I would come home from work, pop these supplements, change clothes and go running - I couldn't tell any difference in my running, but at 12:00 at night I was ready to wax the floors, paint the living room, etc, etc. - I was headed for exhaustion by the time I figured this out.

Be careful with anything you put in your body until you have a chance to check it out.

I've always found taking supplements is kind of cheating, but that's just me.

Clayton,

You can downplay, make excuses, refuse to see it, rationalize, be closed mided, etc. about the supplements you're taking, but the truth is they are *** you up. You body will get a "natural" high from working out without the supplements. It's obvious just by the way your writing that you're jacked up.

I have never seen someone keep the same shape after quiting supplements- they always shrink. Ditch the gimmick garbage supplements and just exercise and eat healthy. EVERYONE'S body has a max level they can reach without help from supplements/steroids. Find your max level and learn to love it. No need to reach Incredible Hulk size unless that's the life style you want.

I took supplements while I was in Iraq the last time, dropped to 170 and about 6 % bf. My 3 mile time dropped to 17:50 and I felt great. Came back stateside stopped taking them while continuing to work out. I almost immediately went back to where I was before. Eat healthy and train.

We just had a staff pme and it was about alcohol/substance abuse. A lot of those supplements can make you pop positive for amphetamines. One other thought is the FDA does not regulate supplements, so that should tell you something.
