.Paxamus. Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 Hey guys, I am about to put some new rubber on my trailer of my Tr186, what are some of yalls picks on trailer tires? Just looking for some input before I buy some Thanks Paxamus Quote
Sfritr Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 I just recently put on a set of Carlisle tires. I have read mulitiple reviews about this brand and didn't have any negatives. I couldn't be happier with them so far. Run a search history in the forums for Trailer tires. There have been many threads regarding brands, pros, cons, etc. You should be able to get all the info you need. Quote
Super User Fishing Rhino Posted April 16, 2012 Super User Posted April 16, 2012 Some folks swear at them instead of by them, but my Z-7 came with Trail-America tires. I've been to GA twice, Pickwick and KY Lake, plus two summers of fishing around here and they still looked like new when I traded in my rig. Conservatively, I towed that trailer 15,000 miles and they still looked new. When I got a spare for the rig, I got the wheel and a Carlisle tire for half the money that BPS wanted for a spare tire and wheel. The wheel I got is galvanized to boot. It has yet to make contact with the road. I do maintain the tires at near the maximum recommended pressure. It may make for harsher ride for the boat, but it rolls a lot easier. And, the rig is garaged which protects the tires from the sun's Ultraviolet rays. Quote

Outside edge bald, rest of it okay. Could be my axel is off, but i would much rather blame the tire. Just put on two new galv'd and they look and feel great Quote
.Paxamus. Posted April 16, 2012 Author Posted April 16, 2012 I just got off the phone with a guy who recommends these 8 ply Goodyears, that they put on construction trailers. I am going to give them a shot, we'll see Quote
