I was wondering how you guys like the Mad Paca and Rage Hawg in comparison to the brush hawg. Do they have more action since they have different types of flappers? I really like Paca craws so I assume the flappers on the mad paca have a similar action. The brush hawg is one of my favorite baits still though.

I've not used a Mad Paca but I have used the Rage Hawg a few times ;) In the case that you haven't viewed it's action, you can see it here on the "Bringin Heat" video. All of my designs are based to have full action results on the fall with only 1/4oz weight, as this footage illustrates. All swimming is at the same basic speed. Of course, all appendage movement increases as the speed of motion, retrieve or fall rate increases. The wide mid-body side flappers are designed to produce a "Springboard" effect when the bait is lifted up and released to fall... also when the weight and nose of the bait touches the bottom. The side flapper action can be seen toward the end of the Hawg footage. Hope this helps!

I have fished the Mad Paca and brush hogs. They are both good, you can't go wrong with either one.I think the Mad Paca has a bit more tail action.

I prefer the Rage Hawg. To me, all rage products catch fish!

BTW...that eeliminator looks freakin awesome in the video!!

I'm not sure about the Mad Paca, never fished it.

Been fishing the Rage Hawg since it's release and never searched for a replacement hawg.

The size and action is just right imo.

Sorry Steve but I fish all 3 ;)

They are tools used to accomplish a goal!

I've used the mad paca and actually caught a 4 lber last week on it. It does have a lot more action than the others since instead of having the two side flaps like the Rage Hawg or Brush hog it uses the paca claws that give it more of a flaping action than gliding. All three are great baits but if you are looking for more action go with the Mad Paca.

I've actually cut down the two tails on the Mad Paca to look like antenni to get a miniture sized paca craw.

What size and type of hook do you guys use on the 5" hawgs? I have been using a 2/0 EWG but was thinking of switching down to a 1/0 to stay more weedless.

5/0 is a standard for me but 3 and 4/0 is very popular for this size bait most everywhere...

When I have used the full size brush hawg I use a 4/0.

It's a 3/0 or 4/0 for me too!
