Ima Bass Ninja Posted April 14, 2012 Posted April 14, 2012 So I go I to my local Walmart 2 weeks ago and see a 6'6" mh quantum energy pt casting rod for $22. It was the only one in the bin. This rod list at TW for $79.99 so of course I bought it. Well I went back today and they had another one in the bin and I bought it also. But I wondering just how many of these things would you buy ? I mean a $80 rod for $20 is hard to pass up but just how many of the same type of rod would you get? Quote
bassh8er Posted April 14, 2012 Posted April 14, 2012 Same brand or type? If it was a good deal, I'd get at least 2 so you have a backup... IF you like the rod. I'd probably take the same deal, but if I didn't like the rod, I wouldn't bother buying any more. I bought a $130 Camo Stix rod at Cabelas for $30 last year, and still haven't used it; so is the game of fishing. Quote
Ima Bass Ninja Posted April 14, 2012 Author Posted April 14, 2012 Yep exact same rod. I do like it it's got some great components. PAC bay guides Fuji reels seat, split cork grips. Just tryin to make up my mind whether I should get another one if I see it Quote
detroit1 Posted April 14, 2012 Posted April 14, 2012 Nice price but i would not have a use for it. Quote
POPRG Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 Sounds like a nice all around stick ninja, cant hurt to have 1-2 around. i picked up a heavy action 7' quantum spinner from a bargain bin..saw the rod there for weeks, played around with it in the store, but always put it back on the rack at the last second. Went back one day and bought it,use it now for light tackle saltwater and man that rod is awesome! anyone who tries it wants one too. best $24.00 i ever spent. but like you said, how many bargains can we use? its a sickness man...i know of no cure available,so untill then.shop on.......just purchased a lews tourney pro last night..i do not need another reel, why did i buy it?? Mike__D Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 I'm brown (like Russel Peters brown), so I would buy every single one of those rods!!! Would probably never use them but I would not be able to pass up a deal like that. LOL Mike D Quote
jkarol24 Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 Buy them all and then sell the ones you dont want at a nice discount to some members on the flea market 2 Quote

Stasher1 Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 I picked up a 6'6" medium spinning rod in the previous generation, and it turned out to be a fantastic rod. Very light, well balanced, and very sensitive. Well worth the $100 I paid for it. They've changed them a bit, but if they're anything like the previous models, they're great rods...even at full price. At $22, it's a no-brainer. Quote
Super User S Hovanec Posted April 15, 2012 Super User Posted April 15, 2012 I came across a deal like that quite a few years ago. Gander was clearing out their "Classic" line of rods. Final cost was $9.98 each. I can't buy the guides for less than that. I bought 6 or 8 of them in various actions and powers.....can't remember. I kept one of them and used the rest as door prizes at our bass club Christmas parties and other functions that I felt a donation would be nice. Quote
