Super User Bassn Blvd Posted April 14, 2012 Super User Posted April 14, 2012 Has anyone seen American Reunion or The Three Stooges? If so, any good? Tomorrow is movie day for the wife and me so I need to pick one. Quote
Super User slonezp Posted April 14, 2012 Super User Posted April 14, 2012 My 21 yo son says American Reunion was good. 3 stooges commercials look good. The guy who plays Moe was on one of the late night talk shows this past week, and they played a clip. Looked like the Moe and Curly impressions were good. Not so much with Larry. Something about being filmed in color kind of takes something away from it for me. Quote
OHIO Posted April 14, 2012 Posted April 14, 2012 American Reunion was funny. A lot of fine ladies in it too. Quote
Super User Bassn Blvd Posted April 14, 2012 Author Super User Posted April 14, 2012 I've seen all the American Pie movies and will eventually see American Reunion. I just don't which one I should go see and which one I should wait for on PPV. I hear ya about the original 3 stooges. I think my expectations might be too high to enjoy the new release. Kind of like the "True Grit" remake. How do you recapture The Duke. I don't mind watching some remakes, but there are a few that's best left as originals. Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted April 14, 2012 Super User Posted April 14, 2012 Off the top of my head the only remake I thought better than the original was Cape Fear. Once you have seen Errol Flynn in Robin Hood, is there a point to seeing it redone? Quote
Super User slonezp Posted April 14, 2012 Super User Posted April 14, 2012 21 Jump Street looks pretty good. Heard it wasn't bad, but nothing like the tv show. Quote
Quillback Posted April 14, 2012 Posted April 14, 2012 Read a Stooges review today, reviewer liked it. I liked the Stooges as a kid, but I was concerned that sitting through 2 hours of Bonks, doinks, eye pokes and Nyuk, nyuks would be a little too much, but the reviewer says it's basically broken up into 3 parts, beginning with a Stooges "origin" story. The Stooges are brought to an orphanage in a burlap sack and it goes from there. Personally I thought the latest True Grit was much better than the original. Quote
Quillback Posted April 14, 2012 Posted April 14, 2012 And, though never given credit for it, Curly was the originator of "Break Dancing" The dude was doing the floor spin move back in the 30's. Quote
OHIO Posted April 14, 2012 Posted April 14, 2012 Heard it wasn't bad, but nothing like the tv show. Yeah, the show was before my time, but that's what I've heard too. Quote
Super User Bassn Blvd Posted April 14, 2012 Author Super User Posted April 14, 2012 The wife said NO to both American Reunion and 3 Stooges. We're going to go see Wrath of the Titans. Quote
