Bass_Fanatic Posted April 14, 2012 Posted April 14, 2012 Well, last November my wife and I found out that we were going to become parents, so I started looking for a place of our own (we were renting at the time). I finally found a good deal and closed on the deal last week. We are in the process of moving everything in and are almost done. All thats left is the extra bedroom suite and the washing machine and dryer. Well, the washing machine and dryer are the stackables and I was trying to move them on my own so I thought that I would "unstack" them so I could pack em one at a time. I began to unscrew things that looked like it was connecting the two untis together. THe more I unscrewed, the more screws I found. Finally I found the last screw that was keeping it together and I unscrewed it only for the entire machine to come crashing down!! It bent all the meat up, broke off all plastic peices, bent the tub, ripped apart the wires and hoses, and cut my dang arm! Needless to say I was not happy with myself at the time. They cost us $1000 and now it is useless. Cant even be fixed. I really dont need to foot another bill right now, but looks like Im going to have to. New washer and dryer, here I come. Lesson Learned: Stackable washer and dryers are indeed not two seperate units stacked on one another, but rather, they are one unit! Should have figured that out by them only having one dang plug. Jake P Posted April 14, 2012 Posted April 14, 2012 I have a set of washer and dryer sitting in the shed i would sell you for cheap but were a ways apart. Good luck on finding a new set! I know learning things the hard way suck sometimes but you gotta learn somehow right? Quote
royal0014 Posted April 14, 2012 Posted April 14, 2012 Hmmm, if only there were somewhere a person could go to inquire as to how to or not to do something dumb......... 1 Quote
IneedAnewScreenName-972354 Posted April 14, 2012 Posted April 14, 2012 My step daughter called me about her washing machine leaking and soaking their carpet in their new apartment when they tried to wash the first load of laundry. Her and her fiancee hooked it up but I couldn't imagine it 'leaking" that much water, so I asked if they hooked the drain hose into the drain in the wall. Her reply "I know what happened!" Quote
